Jaguars draft Baylor's Josh Cameron and Stanford's CJ Williams in the sixth round. New pass-catchers arrive to challenge for snaps behind established stars.
The Jacksonville Jaguars showcased some trade activity moving up in the sixth round, as they bolstered their wide receiver depth with the 191st and 203rd pick.
Jacksonville traded with the New England Patriots to move up five spots from 196, and they selected Baylor's Josh Cameron. Twelve picks later they doubled down on receiver and drafted Stanford's CJ Williams.
Cameron and Williams enter a wide receiver room with Brian Thomas Jr., Jakobi Meyers, and Parker Washington. Travis Hunter's receiving role could be limited next season, so the Jaguars' new picks could fight for meaningful snaps behind the initial trio mentioned.
Josh Cameron, 191st Pick
Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 224 pounds, Cameron was the leading receiver for the Bears and his quarterback, Sawyer Robertson. He finished his senior season with 872 yards and nine touchdowns on 69 receptions.
His 872 yards ranked fourth in the Big 12, including hauling in 150 yards or more in two games — SMU (151) and Utah (165). Cameron made first-team All-Big 12 during his final campaign with Baylor

Jacksonville picked Cameron up in his projected round. He is built like a running back, is not afraid to use his size in the red zone and rarely drops the ball.
However, there are skills he needs to improve on, like route running and quick twitch motion to beat cornerbacks pressing him.
"Proving he can move beyond the relatively simple asks of the Baylor offense will be critical if he is to become more than a backup," NFL analyst Lance Zierlein wrote in his combine bio.
