The Jacksonville Jaguars signed running back Ameer Abdullah and a multitude of other players
The Jacksonville Jaguars made multiple roster moves on Monday, as reported by the team. Here's a breakdown of some of the changes to the team.
The Jaguars signed running back Ameer Abdullah. Abdullah was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 2015 NFL draft, 54th overall in the second round. Abdullah spent a bit over three season with the Lions before being claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Vikings in 2018.
He then spent a few years in Minnesota before going to the Carolina Panthers and then the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 and staying there to 2024, before spending the 2025 season with the Indianapolis Colts.
Throughout his career, Abdullah rushed for 2,054 yards and nine touchdowns, while catching 219 passes for 11 touchdowns. The Jaguars are getting a versatile back to add the running back room in 2026.
Jacksonville also resigned offensive lineman Sal Wormley. Wormley signed with the Jaguars as an Undrafted Free Agent in 2025, and was on the team's practice squad last season. Wormley was waived a few days ago but the team brought him back.
Rookie center Jordan White has been placed on the reserve/retired list as rookie minicamp concluded. White signed with the Jaguars after going undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft from Vanderbilt. Rookies being on the reserve/retired list after minicamp isn't always the norm, but it isn't far fetched. With his retirement, Jacksonville resigned Sal Wormley.
White started his college football career West Virginia in 2021 and spent two season there before transferring to Liberty and being there in 2023 and 2024, before transferring again to Vanderbilt in 2025.
White was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week multiple times in the 2025 season. He was even labeled as an offensive lineman with great pass blocking, not giving up a sack in multiple games.
The Jaguars also waived running back Ja'quinden Jackson. Jackson was an undrafted free agent in 2025 and was on Jacksonville's practice squad for his rookie year. Jackson was named AP Second-Team All-Sec in 2024 with the Arkansas Razorbacks, rushing for 790 yards and 15 touchdowns, while having 13 receptions for 139 yards.
The Jaguars will begin organized team activities on May 26th.
