The Jacksonville Jaguars are shoring up their depth in the secondary, re-signing cornerbacks Christian Braswell and Keith Taylor on Friday.
Braswell signed a one-year deal as an exclusive-rights free agent, according to ESPN Radio's Mia O'Brien, who broke news of the signing on Friday.
The team announced re-signing Taylor on Friday afternoon.
The Jags on Monday announced re-signings of two other backups, defensive lineman Matt Dickerson and return specialist/running back DeeJay Dallas.
Braswell, a practice-squad player in 2024 and 2025, was set to become an exclusive-rights free agent on March 11, the start of the new league year and the opening of free agency.
The Washington, D.C., native saw action in six regular-season games this past season in Jacksonville. A sixth-round draft pick (202nd, Rutgers) in 2023, he was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury in October of his rookie season. He was waived in final roster cuts in August 2024, then signed to the practice squad, from which he was elevated for three games. After signing a one-year reserve/future contract for 2025, Braswell again was activated after injuries and previous trades had thinned out the ranks of the Jags' secondary.
Though he's been in the NFL for three seasons, Braswell has accrued only enough playing time to be designated an exclusive-rights free agent, tied to the Jaguars. While contract details have not been released, ERFA deals are usually for one year at the league minimum.
A journeyman cornerback, Taylor joined Jacksonville's active roster in December on a one-year, $1.1 million deal. The terms of his new contract have not been released.
The Long Beach, California, native was originally selected by the Carolina Panthers in the fifth round (166th overall) of the 2021 draft and played for the Panthers for two years, then the Kansas City Chiefs from 2023 through 2024, and with the Atlanta Falcons in 2025.
Taylor played four seasons at the University of Washington (2017-2020).
