The Jacksonville Jaguars sign Seattle Seahawks receiver Jake Bobo to an offer sheet.

Life seems pretty good for Jake Bobo currently. A 2023 undrafted rookie free agent, he worked his way onto the Seattle Seahawks roster, winning a Super Bowl with them last season. Reportedly, the free-agent receiver recently signed an offer sheet to join the Jacksonville Jaguars. If all works according to plan, he will leave the Pacific Northwest and makes his way to Duval County.

He potentially gives Trevor Lawrence a steady target if things work out. He stands at 6-foot-4 inches tall and weighs 207 pounds, providing a sizable frame for a possession receiver. That’s exactly the type of skill set Jacksonville has been looking for to complement its offense. He is someone who can move the chains on third down and offer another reliable option in the red zone.

What to Expect Next with Bobo Signing

Here's how everything works. With a restricted free agent like Bobo, the original team (Seattle) must tender the player by offering a one-year contract at a specific salary level.  The player is then allowed to negotiate with other teams.

Bobo and Jacksonville have agreed on terms of a new agreement. The Jaguars made an offer, which they and Bobo signed. The Seahawks have five days from that signing to make Bobo a matching offer if they opt to keep him. If they do, Bobo remains in Seattle under the exact terms of the new deal. If they don’t, he'll head to Jacksonville.

Depending on the original tender level, the Jaguars may have to send draft compensation back to Seattle.

From Jacksonville’s perspective, this is a low-risk, high-upside move. Bobo has already proven he can carve out a role, despite entering the league without draft pedigree. That kind of development often points to a player who understands how to maximize opportunity , and that's something every offense can use.

For a Jaguars team still looking to solidify its identity around Lawrence and under second-year coach Liam Coen and offensive coordinator Grant Udinski, adding dependable pieces matters just as much as landing star power. Now, the decision shifts to Seattle. Matching the offer means retaining a young receiver who knows the system and has already contributed to a winning culture.

Letting him walk opens the door for a fresh opportunity in Jacksonville, where his role could expand. Either way, Bobo has positioned himself well, a testament to how quickly things can change for players willing to put in the work.
