Jacksonville’s two-way phenom joins Sheriff T.K. Waters on a ride-along and gets to witness a real-life major drug bust.
Jacksonville Jaguars two-way phenom Travis Hunter might be the busiest player in the NFL.
Whether he's out there catching passes as a wide receiver or locking down receivers as a cornerback, Hunter's goal is to never come off the field.
Turns out, he's pretty busy off the field as well.
As reported by TMZ, Hunter had an eventful police ride-along with Sheriff T.K. Waters, which was posted on YouTube.
Hunter's ride-along video just happened to capture a major drug bust, leaving the Jaguars' star stunned is disbelief.
"They done caught a kingpin," Hunter exclaimed, and then told any kid watching not to mess with drugs.
After Sheriff Waters received a call for assistance to deal with a vehicle allegedly full of drugs, Hunter was taken along to observe. The cops allege that they found a wide array of illegal drugs inside containers with false bottoms. The police officers claim to have found marijuana, meth, cocaine, fentanyl, and other pressed pills in the containers.
Hunter was asked by one of the cops if he was having fun yet, to which he responded, "this is the best part."
The 23-year-old NFL star clearly was excited to witness some action during his time with the police.
Important Season For Hunter
When he's not helping local police take down drug dealers, Hunter is being counted on to become the superstar player the Jaguars expected when they drafted him second overall in 2025.
Hunter is seeing his dual roles flipped this season. After being used primarily as a wide receiver as a rookie, he will be a full-time cornerback this year, while being used only occasionally on offense.
Playing both sides of the ball makes Hunter one of the most unique and special talents in the NFL. His two-way potential made him the most likely non-QB on the Jaguars to win MVP this season.
Jacksonville will settle for Hunter developing into a true shutdown CB. Adding his talent to the defense full-time should take it to an entirely new level. The excitement for what Hunter can accomplish at corner is rising, and some believe he has a higher ceiling there than as a receiver.
Final Thoughts
It looks like Hunter may have a career after football already lined up. His police ride-along certainly provided some extra excitement for him as he prepares for the start of the regular season.
This year is pivotal for Hunter to prove he is the type of generational player he was expected to be coming out of college. After his rookie season was cut short after seven games due to a knee injury, Hunter has added significant muscle this offseason and looks ready to go.
Only one more preseason game to go before the real fun begins for Hunter.
