From undrafted afterthought to Trevor Lawrence’s top target, the veteran wideout secures a spot among the league's elite bargains following a dominant breakout season in Jacksonville.

Jacksonville Jaguars' wide receiver Jakobi Meyers has had a very solid NFL career.

In his seven seasons with the Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, and New England Patriots, the 29-year-old has totaled 468 catches, 5,427 receiving yards, and 23 TDs (plus another two rushing). Meyers has spent time as his team's WR1 and has earned almost $45 million in his career.

Not too bad for someone who wasn't even drafted.

Meyers was signed by the Patriots as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2019 out of North Carolina State, where he broke Torry Holt's single-season reception record in 2018, when he caught 92 passes for 1,047 yards.

Now, PFF has named Meyers to its "NFL's All-Undrafted Team" heading into the 2026 season.

Meyers is joined by receivers Rashid Shaheed of the Seattle Seahawks and Jalen Coker of the Carolina Panthers.

PFF notes that he has surpassed 800 yards from scrimmage in every season except for his rookie year. Meyers has also not been very fortunate with the quarterbacks he has played with, as PFF mentions his trade to Jacksonville, which paired him with QB Trevor Lawrence, has given him "quarterback stability" for the first time since he was catching passes from Tom Brady in New England as a rookie.

One Of Jacksonville's Top Offensive Weapons

After coming to the Jaguars in a mid-season trade last year, Meyers quickly became one of Jacksonville's top offensive weapons. In his nine games in Duval, Meyers totaled 42 receptions, 483 receiving yards, and three TDs. He quickly developed chemistry with Lawrence and was a major reason the Jaguars' offense remained potent, even without Travis Hunter and Brian Thomas Jr. having a miserable season.

Jacksonville rewarded Meyers with a three-year, $60 million contract extension in December, ensuring that he will remain a big part of the offense moving forward.

The Jaguars' top receiving trio of Meyers, BTJ, and Parker Washington is expected to be one of the NFL's best in 2026, as Jacksonville looks to build on last year's 13-4 season and division championship.

Final Thoughts

It's great to see Meyers receive some recognition for his ability to carve out a very successful career after arriving in the NFL as an afterthought.

At only 29 years old, Meyers should have plenty of good football still in front of him. He was a huge part of Jacksonville's eight-game winning streak to end the regular season.

Now he will be instrumental in Jacksonville's journey to make it to the franchises's first-ever Super Bowl this season.

Not too bad for someone who wasn't;t even drafted.
