Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars were able to eke out a win over the Eagles, but Jacksonville spent most of the game flustered and frustrated.

Somehow, the Jacksonville Jaguars were able to leave Tottenham Hotspur Stadium victorious over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

The Jaguars needed every second of the full 60 minutes to eke out a 19-17 win, and it took a miracle for them to have a chance.

When Eagles kicker Jake Elliott nailed a 48-yard field goal to give Philadelphia a 17-16 lead with only eight seconds left, the game was all but over.

Until Ameer Abdullah returned the ensuing kickoff all the way to the Eagles’ 39. Time expired, but the refs rightly put one second back on the clock, giving Cam Little a chance to win the game.

Little drilled the game-winner, allowing the Jaguars to escape with a 19-17 win, which would be easy to say they didn’t really deserve.

The Jaguars had played a sloppy, mistake-filled contest where they couldn’t stop shooting themselves in the foot.

Jacksonville was called for 13 penalties totaling 100 yards during the game, and the penalty that may have hurt them most didn’t even show up in the box score.

Rookie WR Josh Cameron returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for an absolutely electric touchdown.

Unfortunately, the Jaguars were called for holding, their half of the offsetting penalties, which wiped out Cameron’s TD, and the game’s official start was given a mulligan.

During the return, rookie defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr. got into a scuffle with Eagles’ starting linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr., resulting in both players being ejected before a single play from scrimmage.

It was only the beginning.

The final eight seconds were about as exhilarating as a football game can be for the Jaguars.

However, the first 59 minutes and 52 seconds were mostly full of a much less satisfying emotion for Jacksonville.

Frustration.

Between the penalties, questionable play-calling, and the offensive line’s inability to block Philadelphia defensive tackle Jalen Carter, the Jaguars spent most of the game unable to get out of their own way.

About midway through the fourth quarter, the frustration finally boiled over for quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who had finally had enough.

The Situation

With the Jaguars trailing 14-10 and about nine minutes left in the game, Lawrence hit tight end Brenton Strange for a 27-yard gain, setting Jacksonville up with a first-and-goal at the one.

It was the Jaguars’ second such scenario in the game. To end the first half, they also had a first-and-goal from the one and were unable to score. A horribly called jet sweep on fourth down lost six yards, all the way back to the seven on the final play of the half.

Lawrence was determined not to let that happen again, but Jacksonville would follow with arguably its most frustrating sequence of the game.

On first down, LT Walker Little, playing in place of injured Anton Harrison, was called for a false start. After a Bhayshul Tuten run set up second down from the four, the Jaguars didn’t get the snap off in time, causing Lawrence to slam the football down in disgust and begin screaming at center Robert Hainsey, an extreme show of emotion from a QB who is normally calm.

On third-and-goal from the nine, just two plays later, Jacksonville was inexplicably guilty of another delay of game, backing them all the way to the 14.

A fourth-down attempt from the five was incomplete, the second time the Jaguars didn’t get any points after having first-and-goal from the one.

After the game, Lawrence was asked about his outburst, and he explained that he wasn't frustrated with only his center, but frustrated with everything, including himself.

"I was pretty frustrated at a lot of things -- our offense, our team, myself, everything, just in that moment where we kind of lost our mind a little bit. Some of the operational stuff  we've got to clean up, too many penalties.

"I thought it was supposed to be a home game for us over here. I guess you guys don't like us too much,  like the Eagles a little bit more. Just messing around.

"It was loud for sure. It wasn't so much that, it was just getting behind in the play clock. I've got to do a  better job in the huddle of getting the play call in. I thought Coach [Liam Coen] did a fine job. I've got to  get the play called and get out of the huddle so we can operate and not be behind the clock so much. A  lot of stuff to clean up."

Final Thoughts

The way this game was going for Jacksonville, I'm surprised it took that long for Lawrence to show his frustration.

In the end, the Jaguars were able to overcome their frustrations and get the win, showing a lot of heart and guts to beat a quality team even when they didn't have their A-game.

That's the sign of a really good team, even if there is a lot to clean up.
