The Jacksonville Jaguars took on the New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon, and it resulted in the Jaguars picking up a dominant 35-6 win.

In this game, the Jaguars dominated from start to finish on both sides of the ball. With that said, let's take a look at the top five takeaways from this game.

1. Jakobi Meyers May Have Emerged as the WR2

Starting on the offensive side of the ball, one of the biggest takeaways from this game was the fact that wide receiver Jakobi Meyers may have emerged as the WR2.

Throughout the game, Meyers and quarterback Trevor Lawrence had a great connection as Meyers totaled seven receptions for 64 yards and one touchdown.

In this game, Meyers was great, and with his performance, it appears he may have emerged as the WR2 and a great complement to fellow wide receiver Parker Washington.

So, moving forward, if Meyers can continue to play like this, he could be a great complement to Washington, which may form one of the better wide receiver duos in football.

2. The Defense Dominated

On the defensive side of the ball, one of the biggest takeaways was the fact that the defensive front dominated all game long.

In this game, the Jaguars' defense generated heavy pressure as they sacked Patriots quarterback Drake Maye three times and hit him a total of six times. On the ground, Jacksonville allowed 26 rushes for 83 yards and an average of 3.2 yards per carry, which was a tremendous performance and really limited New England's ability to move the ball.

The defense also forced three turnovers as they intercepted Maye twice and recovered a fumble which gave Jacksonville a few extra possessions and was a major reason the Patriots could not get back into this game.

Heading into next week, if the Jaguars continue to dominate on the defensive side, and in particular on the defensive front, this defensive unit may be one of the best in the entire league.

3. Trevor Lawrence Needs to Avoid Risky Throws

The next offensive takeaway from this game was that quarterback Trevor Lawrence made several risky throws throughout this game, but was solid overall.

Against the Patriots on Sunday, Lawrence threw an interception when he tried to force the ball in a tight window, which gave New England a short field, and on several other occasions, he made similar decisions that were also close to being intercepted.

Overall, Lawrence was solid as he completed 19 of his 29 passes for 182 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Lawrence also added four rushes for 25 yards on the ground showing his dual threat ability.

So, Lawrence did have a solid performance overall, however, he does need to avoid the risky throws moving forward, otherwise, that could create some big problems for the Jaguars if he is not careful.

4. Bhasyal Tuten Shines on the Ground

Another takeaway from this game was the fact that running back Bhayshal Tuten shined on in the run game with a solid performance overall.

For the game, Tuten totaled 15 rushes for 73 yards and a touchdown while averaging 4.9 yards per carry and was consistently able to find rushing lanes to be productive on the ground.

As a result of the Jaguars being able to dominate on defense, Jacksonville was able to stay committed to the ground game, and it showed.

If the Jaguars can stay committed to the run game throughout the season, it should help Lawrence and the offense to stay ahead of the chains and potentially allow Tuten to have a very productive year on the ground.

5. Travis Hunter's Solid Defensive Performance

The final takeaway from this game was the fact that second-year player Travis Hunter had a solid performance on the defensive side.

In this game, Hunter recorded four tackles, one pass breakup, and an interception, which showed his ability to make plays on the ball in coverage and be one of the more reliable corners for the Jacksonville defense.

Moving forward, if Hunter can continue to make plays on the ball and provide consistent coverage in the secondary, he has the potential to become one of the more reliable corners in the entire NFL.
