As the Brian Thomas Jr. trade rumors continue to emerge, these three wide receivers could replace him in the 2026 NFL Draft should he be moved.

The Brian Thomas Jr. trade scenario in Jacksonville will eventually come to an end.

While some have reported Thomas won’t be moved, rumors have been swirling since the 2025 trade deadline that the former first-round draft pick and 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year finalist could be on the move.

Including Thomas, the Jaguars currently boast a wide receiver room consisting of Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers and Travis Hunter—who will reportedly be primarily used on defense in 2026.

Because of his past success and perceived potential as a No. 1 wide receiver, Jacksonville might listen to every offer and get what they can if they decide to move on from Thomas.

With no first-round pick in the 2026 draft and their first pick not coming until the middle of the second round, the Jaguars could move up in the second round and immediately find his replacement.

Although new speculation came out just days ago that Thomas being traded would be a “surprise,” according to CBS Sports’ Johnathan Jones, it has been speculated that Jacksonville is entertaining trade offers for the former LSU product.

Before last season’s trade deadline, it was reported the New York Jets and Giants inquired about Thomas, but the Jaguars ultimately said no.

Both teams could still be in the mix for Thomas as the draft approaches. He could land the Jags an early second-round pick at No. 33 (Jets) or No. 37 (Giants).

The Kansas City Chiefs have also been linked to Thomas recently and currently hold the No. 40 pick.

If Jacksonville does decide to part ways with Thomas, who had two receiving touchdowns last season, they could use that selection on a replacement wide receiver.

This year’s draft class provides the Jaguars with some options.

Here are three names Jaguars fans should know ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft on April 23-25 in Pittsburgh. That is, if Thomas is moved and general manager James Gladstone can land a second-round pick in return.

Denzel Boston, Washington

Like Thomas, Boston is a big receiver standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing in at 209 pounds. And like Thomas, the former Washington Huskies standout has experience playing both outside and inside.

A Third-team All-Big Ten selection in 2025, Boston accounted for just two drops on 95 targets. On the season he caught 62 passes for 881 yards (14.2 yards per catch) and had 11 receiving touchdowns.

Malachi Fields, Notre Dame

Another big receiver (6-foot-4, 205 pounds), Fields is considered a boundary pass catcher who has proven to be physical against opposing defensive backs. The Notre Dame product didn’t get much use in the Fighting Irish’ run-heavy attack, but was a reliable target in tight windows and 50/50 balls. Fields caught just 36 passes for 630 yards and five touchdowns in 2025, but in his previous two seasons at Virginia he caught 113 passes for 1,619 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also had a drop rate of just 2.7 percent on 66 targets last season.

Germie Bernard, Alabama

Bernard is not as tall as Boston or Fields, but is considered a strong receiver who has also shown the ability to line up at multiple positions, including running back and as a Wildcat quarterback.

Although he doesn’t possess elite speed, Bernard is quick and elusive with the ball in his hands. Last season for Alabama, Bernard caught 64 passes for 862 yards and seven touchdowns, while adding two touchdowns on the ground. As the Crimson Tide’s primary receiver, he registered just one drop on 97 targets in 2025.

Free-Agent Options

Limited salary cap space took the Jaguars out of the running for names like Mike Evans and Alec Pierce, but if Gladstone is able to make a trade for Thomas and doesn’t use a draft pick for a replacement, a possible free-agent addition could be Jauan Jennings.

Despite battling injuries throughout the season, the former Tennessee Volunteer had 55 catches for 643 yards and nine touchdowns, and dropped just three passes for the San Francisco 49ers last season. Jennings is 6-foot-3 and is one of the best contested-catch receivers in the NFL. In his career, he has 210 catches for 2,581 yards and 22 touchdowns heading into his sixth season.
