Aaron Glenn Reveals if Jets 'Quit' in Blowout Loss to Patriots cover image

The New York Jets got destroyed by the New England Patriots, losing by a final score of 42-10.

Aaron Glenn questioned the New York Jets' effort in their 42-10 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday.

However, after watching the film, Glenn saw that his players didn't "quit."

“Our guys did not quit,” Glenn said. "And getting a chance to look at it last night, and look at it again this morning, I will say this, effort was not the issue with that game. I thought our guys played all the way to the very end. What really showed up is they did some things schematically I thought that was challenging offensively and defensively that we really have to take a look at and try to hone in on and fix those things.”

In four losses this month, New York was outscored 153-46. The minus-107 point differential is the worst in NFL history for the month of December, according to ESPN Research. They became the second team in the Super Bowl era to lose four straight games, all by at least 23 points, joining the 1972 Patriots.

“I would say that some of their players just made plays, and I said this yesterday, man, this is a playmakers league,” Glenn said. “Between the quarterback, the receivers, some of their defensive backs and their D-linemen, those guys made the plays that should have been made, and we didn’t. So again, it was not total effort.”

The Jets are expected to draft a QB in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor and Brady Cook struggled this season.

New York closes the regular season out against the Buffalo Bills, a game they will likely lose. The Jets won two games at home this season.

The Jets signed Glenn to a five-year contract. All signs point toward the former New York defender returning next season.

"I do know there's a belief in me," Glenn said. "I do know I believe in him and that's why I'm glad I took this job is because of ownership and what he's about, what [general manager Darren Mougey] is about and what this organization is about."
