Aaron Glenn wanted to give some thanks to New York Jets fans.
While the New York Jets have been one of the worst teams in the NFL over the past few years, one thing nobody can disagree with is that fans travel no matter what. While the Jets haven't been good on either side of the ball over the past decade or so, that hasn't stopped fans from coming out and showing support.
That will continue, whether the Jets are one of the best teams in the NFL or keep playing the way they have over the past decade.
What matters, however, is that players and coaches say the right things. Instead of showing no love to the fan base, even in the good and bad moments, it's important that New York doesn't turn on its fans.
Head coach Aaron Glenn made that a point when speaking to reporters earlier in the week.
"The first thing I really would like to do is just thank the fans for how they traveled to come support us," Glenn said in the opening statement of his Monday morning press conference.
"It really gave our guys a boost when it comes to just finishing this game and I talk about this all the time of creating your own momentum and with our fans operating the way they did, we as a whole - fans, players, coaches - we did create our own momentum so I thought that was outstanding."
"I want to make sure this team is a team that the fans are proud of, and that's going to always be with me no matter what," Glenn said, per the team.
Glenn understands what it takes to play at the highest level, considering he's already done so in the NFL.
He also understands how tough it is to play in a place like New York City. The Jets, who will take on the Green Bay Packers at home on Sunday in Week 2, really need all the fans there and ready to go. If history says anything, the Jets are going to have a ton of fans come out and show support, even if things get rough.
