Aaron Glenn did what he had to do.

New York Jets star defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick has laid some questionable hits throughout his career, according to fans of different teams.

For the Jets veteran, it isn't like Fitzpatrick typically goes headhunting or tries to injure guys, but he's often in position to make a big hit, and he can lay it down like some of the best in the NFL.

In Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns, he had the chance to do exactly that, and he did, against KC Concepcion, the Browns' star rookie receiver. Concepcion was severely injured, suffering a concussion.

It's hard to argue that the hit wasn't dirty, given how hard Fitzpatrick hit him, but whether he meant to is a different question.

There's a big difference between a bang-bang play and Fitzpatrick attempting to injure somebody.

Considering he's been around this league for quite some time and never seems like a guy who is going out there to try to injure players, I don't think it's fair to say that he was attempting to do so. Speaking to reporters, his head coach said similar things.

"Listen, I think Minkah initially tired to go with the shoulder and just like always, I mean, sometimes you say the offensive guy might put their head down -- it's not like he tried to do it or the offensive guy tried to do it," Glenn said, per SNY.

"It's just some of those things that happen in a bang bang situation and they're tough to call -- I do know this, Minkah is not a dirty player, he's never been a dirty player -- I'm glad to see Concepcion get up and walk off the field, but no, I don't think Minkah is a dirty player."

It was a very scary incident on Sunday in Week 5 for Concepcion and the Browns. Right after the play, he was seen lying down, seemingly knocked out.

Fitzpatrick got into a skirmish with other Browns players, and many in the Cleveland locker room weren't happy about it after the game. However, on the play, it does look like he led with his shoulder.

Other angles make it look like he was headhunting, but it didn't feel like a classic dirty hit.
