How is this possible?

It's almost crazy to think the New York Jets have lost games at the level they started the season with, given the talent on both sides of the ball.

When you factor in that the Jets left at least two wins on the board by losing to the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers in Weeks 2 and 3, it feels like we could be looking at a completely different season.

Unfortunately, that obviously hasn't been the case for the Jets, as they enter Week 7 against the Miami Dolphins at 2-4. Things have definitely been better this year, but it would be unfair to suggest that everything has gone according to plan.

The Jets still have obvious issues on both sides of the ball, and it could even be said that the coaching staff has a few things to figure out. For head coach Aaron Glenn, he's done a better job this season, but we've seen some of the same problems that we have over the past couple of years now.

One reason is how bad the Jets have been before halftime. According to the latest, the Jets have been outscored 20-0 in the final two minutes before halftime this season. What's even going to shock you more is how bad the Jets have been since Glenn became the head coach, as they're at -94 before halftime since he took over.

“But the stats show that, when it comes to the end-of-half situations, Glenn has fallen well behind his peers. Considering how many close games the Jets have found themselves in this season, it is fair to wonder if their 2-4 record would look different with a little better execution going into the locker room.

“All told, the Jets have been outscored 20-0 in the final two minutes before halftime this season — and 100-6 since Glenn became head coach, far and away the worst margin in the NFL,” Zack Rosenblatt wrote.

Going down like this before halftime is a big sign that the Jets have problems not only on defense, but also on offense.

This could also indicate the coaching staff hasn't done what it needs to do, since the Jets typically don't have the ball with less than two minutes remaining in the half.

Not to say that the stat is the end-all, be-all, but going down at halftime at this level is definitely not a positive.

The Jets typically aren't winning games going into halftime, at least historically over the past two seasons, but that doesn't excuse giving up points at this level.

The defense needs a better way to get off the field, but again, the offense can be blamed for a lot of this as well.
