The New York Jets may have some trouble with the Chicago Bears this week, according to a few experts.
The New York Jets came very close to moving to 2-1 on the new season, but the team just couldn't get the job done in the end.
New York has now dropped two games in a row, sitting at 1-2 on the year entering its Week 4 matchup against the Chicago Bears. But even with the team holding a 1-2 record, the Jets have to be feeling good about where they are right now.
This team has had a chance to win both of the last two games, and they could very well be 3-0 right now. But the Jets can't dwell on this, and instead the group of players has to look ahead to the game against Chicago.
Heading into this game, the Jets will be facing backup quarterback Tyson Bagent, in all likelihood, or even Case Keenum. But the team can't overlook either player, with Keenum just putting together a strong showing earlier this week on Monday Night Football.
But the Jets defense should be able to do some damage against the Bears offensive attack, especially with more film on the backup situation now. This could give New York a better chance to come away with the win, which could be massive for the season.
Entering the game, multiple analysts from Bleacher Report predicted the game, and the results were fairly split. Four of seven took the Bears in this game: with Gary Davenport, Brad Gagnon, Kris Knox, Moe Moton, Brent Sobleski, Wes O'Donnell, and Ian Hanford making picks.
Davenport, Gagnon, and Sobleski were the three to take the Jets to come away with a road victory this week. But having these predictions be split is interesting, to say the least.
Jets quarterback Geno Smith has played well this season in his return to the team, and he has the offense clicking. Smith has thrown for 784 yards with four touchdowns, while not throwing a single interception this season.
Last year with the Las Vegas Raiders, Smith was very turnover-prone, so it has been good to see that he's limiting the turnovers with New York. If he can keep this up, especially this week, the Jets may have a chance to earn another road victory.
The Bears have a solid offensive attack, even without starter Caleb Williams, so Smith will need to match this offensive output. But the Jets have faith in Smith, and this could be a good week for this team if they can execute.
