Sanchez was in town for the game involving the Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders to be on the call.
It occurred early Saturday morning around 12:30 a.m. where two people were seriously injured – one of them being the former Jet.
TMZ reported that Sanchez was rushed to a local hospital and was originally in critical condition, but as of 1:57 p.m. ET, he was reported to be stable.
For the time being, it’s unclear what led to this incident.
Fox Sports officially released a statement on Sanchez expressing their gratitude for the local medical team that catered to his well being.
“We are deeply grateful to the medical team for their exceptional care and support. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, and we ask that everyone please respect his and his family’s privacy during this time.”
Sanchez had a storied career in football, where he led Pac-10 in his junior year in passing yards, completion percentage, and passing touchdowns thrown while suiting up for the USC Trojans.
After his conference-leading season, Sanchez entered the 2009 NFL Draft where he was selected fifth overall by the Jets.
“The Sanchize,” as he was called amongst Jets fans, led the Jets in his first two seasons as a Pro to two AFC Conference Championships with Rex Ryan as the coach.
In his first season, he helped New York defeat the Cincinnati Bengals and San Diego Chargers, while ultimately falling to the Indianapolis Colts in the Championship game. The Colts ended up winning the Super Bowl that season.
Following that, in the 2010 season, the Jets got their revenge on the Colts while winning in the Wild Card meetup by a hair, 17-16, and then shocked the world by beating the New England Patriots, in the famous “can’t wait!” game from linebacker Bart Scott.
After his playing career where he also suited up for the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Chicago Bears, he signed on with Fox Sports to become a color commentator.
As a commentator, he began as a college football commentator in 2019 before switching over to the NFL.
