The New York Jets re-signed Breece Hall this offseason to a new long-term contract after tagging him to keep the star running back in New York.
There are still plenty of questions about this offense in 2026, but with Hall and Garrett Wilson leading the way, there's reason to be optimistic. Hall could have a huge 2026 season with this revamped offense.
In fact, ESPN's Rich Cimini highlighted how Hall could quite easily make some Jets franchise history, joining the top-four all-time rushing leaders in Jets history. He's just 888 yards shy of this feat, and that's something he's very much capable of doing.
Breece Hall has an easy path to Jets rushing history
"Milestone to watch: Running back Breece Hall can go from 12th to fourth on the franchise's career rushing list," Cimini writes.
It's a bit odd to think of Hall as the Jets' fourth-best running back in franchise history, considering he's played just four seasons in the NFL so far on some pretty terrible offenses.
But looking at the rushing leaders in Jets' franchise history, he does have a real chance to climb the leaderboard this season.
He sits at 3,398 rushing yards, with Shonn Greene next at 3,423 yards. At 12th all-time in rushing yards for the Jets, Hall isn't that far off from leapfrogging a ton of players and jumping into the top-four in franchise history.
All he needs is 888 yards to jump Matt Snell, who has 4,285 rushing yards in his Jets career. Hall is coming off a 1,1065 rushing-yard season in 2025 with a much worse offense than he had to work with last year.
Over the last three seasons, Hall is averaging 978.3 yards per season, which would be more than enough to go from 12th to 4th all-time in Jets rushing history.
This is quite the easy path to history for Hall. While reaching Curtis Martin at 10,302 yards or Freeman McNeil at 8,074 yards might prove difficult, he has a chance to get fourth place in 2026, and Emerson Boozer at 5,135 yards in third is a goal for 2027.
Hall has a really strong chance of becoming the fourth-leading rusher in Jets history, as his average season over the last few years would give him all he needs and more to make this history.
