This is huge.
Garrett Wilson's tough 2025 season may be over.
The Jets announced on Thursday that they placed Wilson on injured reserve. The WR is dealing with a knee injury.
Wilson hurt his knee again in Week 10 against the Browns. He didn't play in Week 7 or 8 (the Jets had Week 9 off) because of the knee ailment.
Wilson has 36 receptions for 395 yards and four touchdowns on the season. It's been a tough campaign for the talented playmaker, who is playing with arguably the worst passer in the league, Justin Fields.
Just how bad has Fields been this season? He has the 11th-fewest passing yards by a QB through eight starts in a season since 2000.
Fields has started eight games for the Jets this season. He has 1,143 passing yards, six passing touchdowns, one interception, 316 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.
The Jets drafted Wilson with the 10th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Wilson has 315 catches for 3,644 yards and 18 touchdowns with New York.
The Jets shocked Wilson at the trade deadline, as the franchise traded Sauce Gardner to the Colts and Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys.
Wilson was close with Gardner.
"My emotions, like that side of it, I hate it, I hate it, you know what I'm saying?" Wilson said. "I play football. I play with my brothers. I get to know my brothers. I hate it, but I'm paid to play football. No one cares if I hate it. Go catch the ball. You know what I'm saying? That's how I see it.
"I get paid to catch passes, block, help my teammates out, make plays, you know what I'm saying?" They (the front office) get paid to do that. I'm going to play football and I'm excited, man. I'm excited to go at this thing and chase it. They have a vision. Like I said, I don't get paid to have a vision. They do and they got one and I have to trust them, man. I do."
The Jets are 2-7 on the season. They face the Patriots in Week 11 on TNF.
