The youngster can make a nice impact.

As of Thursday, it still remains uncertain whether the New York Jets will have Breece Hall in their game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

For the Jets, even if Caleb Williams doesn't play for Chicago, it is still a very good team. If the Jets don't come out and play the type of football that they can on both sides of the ball, and especially if they're dealing with injuries to guys like Hall, there are going to be a lot of things that could go wrong. The Bears are a good team, and that doesn't matter if Williams is playing or not.

Regarding New York, it's best if the organization just focuses on itself. The Jets understand what has to be done on both sides of the football to win a game of this caliber, whether Hall is playing or not. The Jets have multiple running backs they could fall back on, even if they're not as talented as a guy like Hall.

The one player that is going to get the bulk of the carries is Braelon Allen, who sounds very confident in his ability to make an impact for the Jets on Sunday afternoon in Chicago.

"I've always prepared like I was going to be the lead guy," Allen said on Wednesday, per the team.

"I think this year, Coach Frank [Reich] and [RB] Coach Nick [McKissic] put a lot of trust in me to be on the field. A lot of third-down situations and being able to put my pass protection skills on tape and being able to catch the ball a little bit more, and so there was already a little bit more on my plate than had been in the past few years. So honestly, nothing really changes for me in terms of preparation or my mindset. I've always prepared to be in that position."

"Isaiah's a very, very trustworthy player, and he was picking up the slack when I was out [with a knee injury] last year."

There does seem to be a lot of trust within the Jets organization this year when guys are going down, and that's a very promising sign.

Allen hasn't been great this season, rushing for just 61 yards on 19 attempts. He's averaging 3.2 yards per attempt and has only one touchdown. His longest rush of the season has been nine yards, a somewhat concerning sign.
