There hasn’t been a resolution yet between the New York Jets and Breece Hall, at least long term, though there’s expected to be in the coming weeks to months. With the NFL Draft approaching, the Jets are more focused on figuring that out than doing anything else.

Jets general manager Darren Mougey recently said that the organization hasn’t forgotten about getting a deal done with its elite running back. The timing, though, is the biggest thing. Right now, everything is centered around the draft, and once that’s out of the way, the Jets will look at Hall as a guy they want to sign long-term.

“Good, things are in a good place and I'm hopeful with Breece,” Mougey said, per SNY. “Obviously, we'll get through this draft process. After the draft I'll kind of shift my focus back there and hopefully get something done with Breece.”

On Hall’s side, the comments have been polarizing a good bit at times. At points, he’s said he wants to stay in New York. At other times, he’s seemingly thrown shots at the organization.

“You know, I don’t know,” Hall told The Post’s Erich Richter. “I’ve addressed this for the last six, seven months now. But now I’m just kind of like whatever happens, happens.”

"I'm just where my feet are, and letting God and my agent handle everything else," Hall continued. "I feel like my play speaks for itself, considering the situations I've been in the last few years. I'm going to get everything that's coming to me, so I'm not too worried about it."

While that doesn’t sound like a player not looking to get paid by the Jets, it’s interesting that he makes a comment in the tone of “what happens, happens.” Ultimately, Hall wants to be paid, and whether the Jets do that or not right now, he’ll do OK for himself.

Still, getting that long-term deal would be a nice step in the right direction for both sides to continue this relationship. Hall is a very good player and will be needed if the Jets want to turn this thing around.
