New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn provided a major Breece Hall injury update ahead of Week 1.
The New York Jets face the Tennessee Titans to begin the 2026 season and it appears RB Breece Hall will play.
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters on Tuesday (9/8) that Hall (groin) is trending toward playing against the Titans. Hall got hurt at practice on 8/17.
A talented playmaker, Hall has 18 rushing touchdowns and nine receiving touchdowns with the Jets, who signed him to a three-year, $45.75 million extension in May.
Hall enters this season with 3,398 rushing yards and 1,642 receiving yards in his career.
Now that Hall has financial security, he can focus on football and do everything he can to help turn the Jets organization around.
"Everyone knows that we're here for the long haul and we're willing to deal with the good, the bad, the ugly, but also the positives, too," Hall said. "So I think, for me and G [Garrett Wilson], it's like we want to show who we are and what we can do on a consistent basis so bad, and we feel like we're finally getting into a position and our coaches are putting us into position to where we can really just take that stress cap off and just be ourselves."
The Jets went just 3-14 last season. They became the first team in NFL history to not record a defensive interception and to lose five straight games by 23 or more points within a single season.
Hall will receive handoffs and catch passes from Geno Smith in 2026. The Jets acquired Smith from the Las Vegas Raiders.
Hall was ranked the 11th-best RB in the NFL by Bleacher Report's scouting department. He's one spot ahead of Travis Etienne of the New Orleans Saints and one spot behind Kenneth Walker III of the Kansas City Chiefs.
"2025 was Breece Hall's first 1,000 rushing season of his career," Bleacher Report wrote. "After tearing his ACL in 2022, he's bounced back and looks like his best football is ahead. Hall is great at patiently setting up his blocks and using that explosive burst through the lane to slash through the teeth of the defense. He's a difference-maker as a receiver out of the backfield in the passing game. The Jets aren't known as a diamond mine of offensive talent, but Hall is clearly a diamond in the rough."
For the Jets last season, Hall finished with 1,065 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns, 350 receiving yards and one receving touchdown.
