The New York Jets took on the Tennessee Titans on Sunday in a 23-10 win, and Wilson was undoubtedly the best offensive player on the field. He continued to show his burst, his athleticism stayed high, and everything in between. To put things simply, Wilson is a superstar, and it was great to see him back on the field.
However, just like other players around the league, including Malik Nabers of the New York Giants, who was even a little bit worried about getting hit after returning from injury, that's always a thought in guys' heads, even though they had different injuries.
Wilson spoke about bringing his confidence back, and he talked about what it felt like to get hit again, something that I think fans forget about often.
“It was good for me to get back out there and get that confidence back,” Wilson said, per the Post. “I kind of got knocked around early so I was like, ‘OK, this is what it feels like to get hit again.’ After that, you’re ready to play. It was good to be out there and for me to have to make some plays. My team relying on me, I missed that feeling. I love ball. It was good to be out there.”
The offense looked much improved for the Jets on Sunday, a very promising sign for this organization.
We all know that the past few years have been derailed because the Jets' offense simply hasn't been able to do enough. However, Wilson believes that it was a step in the right direction and that the team also left a lot on the field. If that's the case, this season might be fun.
“We still left a lot on the field,” Wilson said. “That was the best part about it.”
The season is still early and I'll continue to be a tad skeptical that things will go as well as we're all hoping for, but I did love what I saw on Sunday. I'm curious to see how that goes, and Wilson being happy should only add to that moving forward.
