New York Jets tight end Kenyon Sadiq had the best game of his NFL career in Week 3.
New York Jets rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq had a strong performance in the loss to the Detroit Lions. Sadiq finished with seven receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown, a career high in all those categories.
The Jets selected the 21-year-old tight end with the 16th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and he is showing that he has the potential to become an elite player. Sadiq had a solid career with the Oregon Ducks before he joined New York.
In the 2024 season, he had 24 receptions for 308 yards and two touchdowns. He had a great season in 2025, as he was a top weapon for Oregon's offense, catching 51 passes for 560 yards and eight touchdowns.
Sadiq's game is translating to the Jets, and with this performance against the Lions, it could serve as a confidence booster for the rest of the season.
He is a versatile weapon, as New York can line him up in multiple spots, and he can be a weapon for Geno Smith to target. Smith benefited from Sadiq's performance and had a great game, completing 31 of 37 passes for 321 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

New York also has a star running back in Breece Hall, locked up long-term after he inked a three-year, $43.5 million extension in the offseason.
The Jets also have some other talented young weapons in Adonai Mitchell and Omar Cooper Jr., but they are unproven. Mitchell had nine receptions for 123 yards in the first two games, but missed Week 3's matchup with a finger injury.
Cooper was selected with the 30th overall pick in the draft, but he suffered an ankle sprain in Week 1 and is on the injured reserve.
With the talent that New York has assembled on offense, they are showing flashes of what the future could look like. The Jets may have a 1-2 record, but all of the games have been competitive.
With players like Sadiq proving he could become an elite player in the future and New York owning three first-round picks in the 2027 NFL Draft, the team has a bright future ahead.
