The New York Jets have received a rather disconcerting NFL Draft prediction.
The New York Jets own the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft next Thursday, and just about everyone expects them to take an edge rusher.
The question is, will the Jets select David Bailey or Arvell Reese?
Right now, most signs are pointing toward New York nabbing the former. The Jets cancelled their top-30 visit with Bailey because they already have all of the information they need on him, and general managers around the league are expecting New York to nab the Texas Tech star.
Chad Reuter of NFL.com is predicting the Jets to swipe Reese, however, and his reasoning is actually rather concerning.
"The Jets take potential over college production, just like the Jaguars did when they selected Travon Walker first overall instead of Aidan Hutchinson four years ago -- and Walker developed into a player worth signing to a $110 million extension earlier this month," Reuter wrote.

Not only that, but the Lions handed Hutchinson a $180 million extension back in October, well above what Jacksonville gave Walker.
So I'm not really understanding Reuter attempting to make a positive comparison to Walker and using it as evidence that Reese would be the better selection.
Bailey racked up 52 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks this past season. Meanwhile, Reese finished with 69 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.
It should also be noted that while Bailey is a true edge rusher, Reese played more off-ball linebacker at Ohio State.
The fascination with Reese has more to do with his freakish athleticism than anything else. He only really had one productive season in college while Bailey proved himself over a period of four years, starting at Stanford in 2022 before transferring to Texas Tech in 2025.
Given how the Jets desperately need results now, it would be surprising if they chose Reese over Bailey.
