The New York Jets have made their decision on head coach Aaron Glenn's future.

The New York Jets hired Aaron Glenn as their head coach this offseason after he had success as the defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions.

Glenn and the Jets have gone 3-11 through 14 games in the 2025 season, but his job is safe moving forward, per Dianna Russini.

Jets' owner Woody Johnson and the Jets understand that they are going through a rebuild and believe in Glenn long-term.

New York made significant changes throughout the season under first-year general manager Darren Mougey. The Jets traded defensive stars Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams at the deadline.

Gardner was sent to the Indianapolis Colts for wide receiver Adonai Mitchell and two first-round picks. They then acquired defensive tackle Mazi Smith, a 2026 second-round pick, and a 2027 first-round pick from the Dallas Cowboys for Williams.

The moves showed that New York is in full rebuild mode, and they are acquiring draft capital to add young talent down the line for their core.

The big question mark for the Jets moving forward is the quarterback position. New York signed Fields to a two-year $40 million deal last offseason, but he has struggled and is expected to be cut this offseason.

Across nine games, Fields has completed 62.7 percent of his passes for 1,259 yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception. He has rushed for 383 yards and four touchdowns.

The problem hasn't been the turnovers, but New York's struggles to move the ball downfield with Fields at quarterback.

The next quarterback that ends up a Jet via the draft, a trade, or free agency, will inherit an improving wide receiver core.

Garrett Wilson has proven year in and year out that he is among the best receivers in the league. However, Wilson only appeared in seven games in the 2025 season due to injuries.

That has given their other weapons the chance to show why they're a part of the Jets' core. Mitchell, who was acquired in the Gardner trade, has shown potential, hauling in 18 receptions for 236 yards and two touchdowns in five games with New York.

John Metchie III has shown some flashes, catching 22 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns with the Jets. However, rookie tight end Mason Taylor has been the most promising pass catcher, as he's hauled in 44 receptions for 369 yards and a touchdown.

The Jets will continue their rebuild this offseason, and Glenn will remain their head coach moving forward.
