The New York Jets already own an enviable stash of draft capital heading into the NFL offseason, but could they possibly add even more?
The Jets own a pair of first-round draft picks and four selections in the first two rounds overall, but with so many glaring needs up and down the roster, New York won't be able to solve all of its issues in one fell swoop this spring.
Adding more draft choices would definitely help, though, and that is exactly what Michael Nania of Jets X-Factor is predicting the Jets will do.
In his seven-round mock draft, Nania has New York completing a big first-round trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, sending the No. 16 overall selection to the Steelers in exchange for pick Nos. 21 and 76.
Nania then has Gang Green nabbing Clemson cornerback Avieon Terrell at No. 21.
"The Jets don’t 'need' a cornerback right now, but they will in 2027 (or at some point in 2026)," Nania wrote. "Penciled-in starter Brandon Stephens is not a long-term answer after allowing eight touchdowns and no interceptions in his debut season with New York. While Azareye’h Thomas showed great promise, the 2025 third-rounder remains a question mark."

Terrell was one of the best corners in the country in 2025, registering 48 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, five forced fumbles and nine passes defended.
Obviously, the forced fumbles stand out, and Terrell actually forced eight of them over his final two collegiate campaigns.
That would be remarkable for a defensive end or linebacker; let alone a cornerback, and it shows just how tenacious Terrell actually is.
Terrell's size (5-foot-11, 186 pounds) has been a source of contention for some, especially in a modern NFL where corners seem to be getting larger (remember: Sauce Gardner is 6-foot-3). But he compensates for his frame with a fantastic motor and a killer instinct.
Also, for what it's worth, Nania had the Jets selecting Ohio State edge rusher Arvell Reese at No. 2, which seems to be the popular mock choice for New York these days.
