The New York Jets have been predicted to upset the Green Bay Packers in Week 2.
The New York Jets host the Green Bay Packers in Week 2 and most NFL analysts expect a Packers win.
However, Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report predicts New York will upset Green Bay in its home opener.
"By no means do I trust the Jets, but I'll take that hook for a team feeling good in its home opener against an opponent that didn't look close to right in Week 1," Gagnon wrote. "Green Bay is hurting right now. The Jets will eventually hit a wall, but I'm not convinced that happens here."
The Jets beat the Tennessee Titans in Week 1, while the Packers lost to the Minnesota Vikings after blowing a 22-10 lead and getting outscored 22-0 in the fourth quarter.
The Jets put up 367 total yards (215 passing yards and 152 rushing yards) against the Titans. They had 19 first downs and Geno Smith was sacked zero times and didn't turn the ball over.
New York scored two touchdowns against Tennessee. Rookie Kenyon Sadiq had a rushing touchdown and Breece Hall had the other score.
The Jets' defense gave up only 195 total yards (127 passing yards and 68 rushing yards) against the Titans. Yes, it's only one game, but New York's defense looks like it will be much better this season with Aaron Glenn calling the plays.
Green Bay is without star RB Josh Jacobs, who is on the commissioner's exempt list and facing charges of battery and criminal damage to property from a May incident with his girlfriend, and Micah Parsons is still out.
The Packers haven't won a game since December 7, 2025. They are struggling mightily, so this is a great chance for the Jets to start the 2026 season 2-0 after going 3-14 in 2025.
To upset the Packers, Smith has to play as he did in Week 1 against the Titans. Throwing a TD pass would help too.
Smith went 19/24 through the air for 215 passing yards in Week 1.
