According to New York Jets reporter Rich Cimini, Jets owner Woody Johnson didn't attend the final three games of the regular season, which is unlike him.
Johnson was "pissed" about how the Jets finished the season.
The Jets, who went 3-14 this season, signed Aaron Glenn to a five-year contract. They are not expected to fire him despite having a terrible 2025 season.
New York made putrid NFL history twice this season. The Jets are the first team in NFL history to not record a defensive interception and lose five straight games by 23 or more points within a single season.
"I understand what everybody on the outside is saying," Glenn said. "I'm going to take all those arrows, and that's OK, because I do know this: It's going to turn. And I'm confident in that. ... Just trust me. I know it's hard to say, but trust me and have faith in what we're doing."
Gang Green started the season 0-7, traded stars Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams and fired defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.
New York's three wins this season came against the Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons.
The Jets were 31st in the NFL in points per game allowed. They gave up 29.6 points per contest despite Glenn being a defensive-minded coach.
"I let the players down. I let the organization down, and that burns me, it really does," Glenn said. "This was not expected, where we are this season, and I understand that. But here's what I do know: I know the reason why I came here, and I am not going to waver from my beliefs on what I think wins games in this league. I'm very confident in myself, I'm very confident in this organization, I'm very confident in our owner, I'm very confident in [general manager Darren Mougey], and we're going to work our ass off to get this s--- exactly where it needs to be. I do know that."
Justin Fields will get released this offseason, but Tyrod Taylor could return as a veteran back up.
The Jets have the second overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. They will draft a QB.
