In the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, the New York Jets showed that they're committed to improving on the offensive side of the football, selecting Kenyon Sadiq and Omar Cooper Jr. These were moves that made a ton of sense for the Jets, especially after taking David Bailey with the second overall pick.

A lot of the talk throughout the offseason has centered on how the Jets can improve on offense, specifically pairing Garrett Wilson with an elite player who can go out and make plays. I love the addition of Cooper because he proved during his time at Indiana that he's just as good as any player in the country at making a tough play.

However, it's still fair to note that the Jets might need more help on offense, especially when it comes to adding a veteran. They were recently suggested to do so by signing DeAndre Hopkins, who sneakily had a decent year with the Baltimore Ravens a campaign ago.

“Despite being a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro wideout, DeAndre Hopkins is still looking for work in May. The 33-year-old wideout most recently played with the Ravens in 2025, converting 22 catches into 330 receiving yards and two touchdowns across 17 games. It was far from the best performance of his career, but Hopkins showed enough to prove he's got gas left in the tank…

“Lastly, Hopkins already looks at home whenever he faces the Jets as a visitor. He has a whopping 201 yards and three TDs on 16 catches in two games against Gang Green at MetLife Stadium, so it'd be nice to be on the other side of the equation. Mougey can make that happen,” Devon Platana wrote.

Hopkins is probably looking to play with a contender at this stage of his career, but money talks, and if the Jets come in with a competitive offer, there's definitely reason to believe that he could end up in New York.

Unfortunately, he isn't one of those guys who is going to save the offense, but he's a nice little player, and there's something to be said about that at this stage of the offseason.
