Injuries are unfortunately part of the game in the NFL, but this is far from ideal for the New York Jets and Breece Hall.

For a Jets team that clearly needs to improve on both sides of the football this year for guys in the locker room, front office, coaching staff, and other places to keep their jobs, any injury is a problem.

When we start factoring in that Hall is arguably the second-best player and second-most important player in this offense, this is far from ideal. Hall, who is down with a hamstring injury, is expected to be ready to play at the beginning of the season.

For now, it remains unclear what the Jets want to do to ensure he ramps up properly before the regular season, but the latest report suggests New York understands it has to be careful in a situation like this.

“Braelon Allen, the Jets No. 2 running back, hopes Hall, who has led the Jets in rushing in each of the last three seasons, returns as "quick as possible." The Jets will be ultra-cautious with Hall, who has missed only two games over the previous three seasons. As a rookie in 2022, he tore an ACL and missed the final 10 games.

“The Jets' backfield depth will be tested for the remainder of training camp, perhaps longer. Isaiah Davis, their No. 3 back, has been sidelined for a week with what is being characterized as a minor knee injury. He's expected to miss at least another week,” Rich Cimini wrote.

It's promising to hear that the Jets are doing the right thing, as allowing Hall to come back when the time is right is not only more important for his own career, but for the organization. Right now, unfortunately, they just don't really have a reason to rush guys back, unless Glenn truly believes that he will lose his job within the first few weeks of the season if his team isn't ready to play.

At the same time, if the Jets can get guys like Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis fully healthy, they have more than enough talent in their running back room to at least be average on that side of the football.

Given how bad this offense looked last year, I understand the frustration, but it's important to remember how much worse it could look if Hall were out for an entire year or missed more than a couple of weeks.
