The New York Jets have a lot of needs heading into the 2026 NFL Draft.
The New York Jets will have a high first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft since they will finish the season with one of the worst records in the league.
With just one game left in the regular season, the Jets' top 2026 NFL Draft needs have been revealed by Bleacher Report.
Bleacher Report believes the Jets need to address the quarterback, defensive line, cornerback, wide receiver and interior offensive line.
"The Jets might not have to address the interior of the offensive line at all. It really comes down to what they decide to do with Alijah Vera-Tucker and John Simpson. Center Josh Myers is signed through the next two seasons and Joe Tippman has done enough at right guard to come back as the starter.
"However, Simpson has been alright as the starter at right guard and is slated to become a free agent. Vera-Tucker tore his tricep and also has an expiring contract. With three selections in the first 35 picks, it isn't out of the realm of possibility that either Mauigoa or Ioane is on their radar. Both would help Aaron Glenn establish the physical culture they want up front and Ioane could be a good value as the best pure guard in the class.
"Olaivavega Vega Ioane is the top pure guard in the class thanks to his ability to halt and generate movement on command. Ioane has been a notably steady presence on an otherwise inconsistent Nittany Lions offense over the first six weeks of the 2025 season."
The Jets are widely expected to draft a QB with their first pick in the 2026 draft. Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor and Brady Cook didn't play well this season.
New York will then address the defense and look for playmakers. Aaron Glenn's defense enters Week 18 with zero interceptions. That's unacceptable, especially since Glenn is a defensive-minded coach.
The New England Patriots beat the Jets by a final score of 42-10 last week. In four losses in December, New York was outscored 153-46. The minus-107 point differential is the worst in NFL history for December, according to ESPN Research. They became the second team in the Super Bowl era to lose four straight games, all by at least 23 points, joining the 1972 Patriots.
The Jets have A LOT of areas of need. Let's see how the front office does in the 2026 draft.
