The New York Jets’ wide receiver room is decent, but nothing to write home about. Personally, I think this is one of the more average units in the NFL, despite Garrett Wilson being a true star and having some other decent complementary pieces. I'd like to see the Jets go out and get a wide receiver in the draft, but it remains uncertain if that's what the front office and Aaron Glenn plan to do when everything is all said and done.

From the sound of things, the Jets are rather confident in what they have in their wide receiver room at the moment.

“I feel good about the wide receiver room. Obviously, getting Garrett Wilson back and healthy will be big for us.

“Yeah, you hear about Garrett all the time,” Glenn said, per the team. “And you should, because he is a true number one receiver.”

There's not much of a debate over Wilson, as he is as good as it gets around the NFL. While he might not be a top-five guy in the league, there's certainly an argument for him being a top-10 player at the position.

However, as the Jets found out a year ago, there are a lot of outside factors that could impact how he looks in most situations. Not only did Wilson deal with an injury a season ago, but the Jets' quarterback situation is still one of the worst in the NFL, so there's no guarantee that New York will be able to get him the football.

Glenn also spoke about Adonai Mitchell as a potential No. 2 option, and this is now another person in the organization who had a lot of good things to say about a player they landed via trade a year ago.

“I look forward to seeing what AD is going to do, going through OTAs, going through the workout program, understanding exactly how we go about doing things,” Glenn said. “I think it takes that summertime to be able to bond with your teammates and then get into the season. I know we just got him during the season, but to be able to see him go through the whole process with our guys, I really look forward to that.

“I like the way our receiver room is,” Glenn said. “You're always going to try to get players that are going to help your team. But I look forward to seeing those guys work together.”

There's not a whole lot to say about Mitchell at this stage of his career due to him simply not showing a whole lot. If we're going based on tools, he has the tools to be a very good player, though.
