The New York Jets could get Micah Parsons 2.0 in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The New York Jets have the second overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft after going 3-14 this season under first-year head coach Aaron Glenn.

The Jets were expected to select QB Dante Moore, but the youngster is going back to Oregon.

With Moore off the table, who should New York draft? Nick Baumgardner and Scott Dochterman of The Athletic have the Jets drafting Ohio State edge Arvell Reese.

"If a chance to select a quarterback presents itself later in the first round, New York should be ready. But the Jets need so much and can start here by taking the best player available. Reese has traits that are awfully reminiscent of what we’ve seen from Micah Parsons."

For Ohio State this season, Reese had 34 solo tackles, 10 tackles for loss 6.5 sacks. Those are stellar numbers and production the Jets desperately need.

According to ESPN, the Jets are hiring former Miami Dolphins assistant Brian Duker as their new DC, but because Dukerhas no playcalling experience, Glenn is expected to take over that responsibility for the 2026 season.

Glenn and Duker worked together on the Detroit Lions from 2021 to 2023.

"During our time in Detroit, Brian consistently demonstrated a high-football acumen and an aggressive approach to defense," Glenn said in a statement. "I'm confident that his energy and knowledge of the game will help elevate our players and push this team forward."

The Jets became the first team in NFL history to not record a defensive interception and lose five straight games by 23 or more points within a single season in 2025. They need a lot of help on both sides of the ball.

New York was 29th in the league in points per game and 31st in points per game allowed. The Jets' three wins this season came against the Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons.

Even though Glenn's first year in New York was a disaster, he will not be fired. The Jets signed Glenn to a five-year contract last offseason.

"I understand what everybody on the outside is saying," Glenn said. "I'm going to take all those arrows, and that's OK, because I do know this: It's going to turn. And I'm confident in that. ... Just trust me. I know it's hard to say, but trust me and have faith in what we're doing."
