Here's what the New York Jets' massive overhaul could look like in the 2026 NFL Draft.

With the 2026 NFL Combine officially in the books, the New York Jets and general manager Darren Mougey now have a better picture of their plan of attack for the 2026 NFL Draft.

Mougey and the front office already made a game-changing move this offseason by trading former 2023 first-round pick Jermaine Johnson II to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat. The decision to move for Sweat now puts the Jets in an intriguing spot leading up to the draft with 12 total picks.

Here’s what New York’s 2026 NFL Draft could look like before the big day:

Round One, Pick No. 2: Arvell Reese (LB/EDGE, Ohio State)

New mock draft, same No. 2 pick.

After having an incredible performance at the Combine last week, paired with the fact that the Jets traded away Johnson likely points to the organization attacking the trenches with the second pick. Reese backed up his strong resume with a 4.46 40-yard dash at 6-foot-4, 241 lbs.

There are, however, some concerns regarding his experience as a pass rusher, but since the Jets are likely out of the playoff picture for the 2026 season, the struggling franchise could use Reese’s rookie season as a development year alongside Will McDonald IV.

Round One, Pick No. 16: Jordyn Tyson: (WR, USC)

Depending on where Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson ranks amongst most NFL teams, the Jets could be the perfect landing spot for the star pass catcher in round one.

Tyson is an extremely well-rounded wideout, recording 2,228 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns over four years in college. While Tyson carries drop issues and a lengthy injury history, adding another wide receiver to the Jets’ current corps would be an ideal scenario for New York’s offense in the future.

Round Two, Pick No. 33: Chris Johnson (CB, SDSU)

During Mougey’s massive fire sale at the NFL trade deadline that saw star cornerback Sauce Gardner get shipped off to the Indianapolis Colts, it’s clear that the Jets could use additional help within their secondary unit in 2026.

Johnson may not be as talented as Gardner, but the San Diego State standout could be an excellent CB2 for New York. His draft stock received a huge boost the past week after posting a 4.40 40-yard dash and a PFF grade of 91.6 in 2025, making him a terrific selection at No. 33.

Round Two, Pick No. 44: Jake Golday (LB, Cincinnati)

Sticking to the defensive side of the ball, the Jets could greatly benefit from taking a linebacker in the early rounds of the upcoming draft.

Cincinnati linebacker Jake Golday was already considered one of the best prospects at his position in this year’s draft, but his excellent day at the Combine solidified him as a top-50 playmaker. At 6-foot-4.5, 239 lbs., Golday has a unique skill set to dominate in coverage and against the run at the NFL level within his first two seasons.
