The New York Jets need all the talent they can get.

The New York Jets are considered a landing spot for a talented playmaker.

NFL writer Alex Kay of Bleacher Report thinks the Jets should pursue Travis Etienne, who becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

New York went 3-14 this season and Breece Hall is a free agent. Etienne could replace Hall if Hall were to leave.

Etienne helped the Jacksonville Jaguars make the playoffs this season. He had 1,107 rushing yards, seven rushing touchdowns, 292 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns.

The Jaguars lost to the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Round of the 2026 NFL playoffs.

"Etienne could be an ideal Hall replacement," Kay wrote. "The team has serious aspirations to finally snap the league's longest active playoff drought in 2026 and may not want to chance handing the backfield over to a less-proven back. Etienne is not only a similarly skilled player to Hall, but he's also a veteran who just helped lead a stunning year-over-year turnaround for a long-suffering franchise.

"After slogging through a miserable 2024 season in which he posted career-low marks while missing seven games with injury, Etienne returned with a vengeance this year and helped guide the Jaguars to just their third playoff appearance since the start of the 2008 season.

"That valuable experience shouldn't be discounted, especially for a team that is trending towards onboarding a slew of rookies this offseason. Having a veteran with that experience and leadership potential in the locker room would go a long way towards shifting Gang Green away from the losing culture that has long plagued the franchise."

The Jets have the second overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. They are expected to draft a QB.

If Hall leaves New York in free agency, the Jets could take a look at Etienne, who has 25 rushing touchdowns and seven receiving touchdowns in the NFL.

Etienne torched the Jets for three receiving touchdowns this season, so New York knows firsthand how talented the Clemson product is.
