Could the New York Jets make a blockbuster trade with an NFC team this offseason?

The New York Jets have been linked to a blockbuster trade with an NFC team.

Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report proposed that the Jets trade for Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray.

Jets Receive: QB Kyler Murray

Cardinals Receive: 2026 fourth-round pick (No. 103), 2026 fifth-round pick (No. 178), 2027 conditional third-round pick (becomes a second with snaps incentive)

The Jets have the second overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. They were going to select Dante Moore, but Moore is going back to Oregon.

With that said, Ballentine believes New York and head coach Aaron Glenn should trade for Murray, who will be shopped by Arizona this offseason.

"Murray is the most accomplished quarterback who could be available via trade," Ballentine wrote. "ESPN's Adam Schefter reported at the end of the season that the Cardinals planned to have extensive discussions about the quarterback's future with the team.

"Murray has played at a high level at times in his career and has over 3,100 rushing yards in 87 games. He could be the type of dual-threat option the Jets were hoping they would get out of Justin Fields. This trade would hit the reset button for the Cardinals and give the Jets a real shot at showing growth under Glenn in his second season."

Murray has 20,460 passing yards, 121 passing touchdowns, 3,193 rushing yards and 32 rushing touchdowns in the NFL. He turns 29 in August.

Murray played in five games in 2025. He had 962 passing yards and six passing touchdowns.

New York started three QBs in 2025: Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor and Brady Cook. The three QBs combined for 2,777 passing yards and 14 touchdown passes.

The Jets' offense was a walking disaster in 2025. They were 29th in the NFL in points per game and 32nd in passing yards.

New York's new OC is Frank Reich. Tanner Engstrand was fired after one season. The Jets went 3-14 in 2025 in Year 1 of the Glenn era.

All signs point toward the Cardinals trading Murray. It will be fascinating to see if the Jets pursue a trade for the two-time Pro Bowler.
