After not being sure what avenue they'd have to take to get the budding young RB back, that saga finally came to a conclusion today for the Jets and Hall.

The New York Jets had a fire sale last season. They traded away arguably the two best players they had, but without a doubt, their two best defenders in Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams.

In terms of team pillars remaining, the only two players left were really WR Garrett Wilson and RB Breece Hall on the offensive side of the football.

Last season, when the Jets were in the midst of beginning their rebuild, it became clear that Hall also wanted out, with many reporting he had his eyes set on Kansas City.

Nothing ever materialized, so he entered this offseason still a Jet, and looking for a long-term deal. Today, it was announced by the Jets that they had come to an agreement on what to do with Breece Hall entering the 2026-27 season.

This morning, it was announced that the New York Jets will be placing the $14.293 million franchise tag on RB Breece Hall, bringing him back at least for one more season.

According to Adam Schefter, this franchise tag is essentially a placeholder while the two sides attempt to reach a more lucrative long-term agreement.

Last season for the Jets, Hall had his first season over 1000 yards and rushed for 4 touchdowns. Many believe he'll be one of the elite RB's in the NFL next season, regardless of the talent of his offensive line.

The Jets are in rebuild mode as signaled by their trading away of star players, but Hall should absolutely be part of their future plans. Hall is entering just his 5th NFL season this upcoming year and is viewed around the league as a top-tier young RB.

The Jets offense will now feature Hall, Garrett Wilson, Adonai Mitchell, and Mason Taylor at a minimum. If they can land either Kyler Murray or a solid QB through the draft, mixed with offensive line pickups, this Jets team could be fun.

It will be tough based on the division they play in, but if the Jets can have a solid free agency and draft with the haul of picks they acquired, they could be able to field a decent team heading into next year based around Hall.
