New York Jets Predicted to Make Trade With Arizona Cardinals cover image

Could the New York Jets make a trade with the Arizona Cardinals this offseason?

The New York Jets have been predicted to make a trade with the Arizona Cardinals this offseason.

NFL analyst Moe Moton of Bleacher Report thinks the Jets will trade for Jacoby Brissett.

New York's new OC, Frank Reich, coached Brissett in 2019 on the Indianapolis Colts

"In 2019, Reich lost Andrew Luck, who retired weeks before the season began, thrusting Jacoby Brissett into the starting role for the Indianapolis Colts," Moton wrote. "He threw for 2,942 yards, 18 touchdowns and six interceptions with a 60.9 percent completion rate in 15 starts.

"Seven years later, a Reich-Brissett reunion does not inspire much excitement, but it is a high-floor pairing for a Jets squad that needs stability and a pulse on offense. As the fill-in starter for Kyler Murray this past season, Brissett threw for 3,366 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions with a 64.9 percent completion rate. He may be available via trade if the Arizona Cardinals' new coaching staff shakes up the roster. Brissett only has one year left on his current deal."

The Jets have the second overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. They were projected to take Dante Moore, but the talented QB is going back to Oregon.

Brissett appeared in 14 games for the Cardinals in 2025. He had 3,366 passing yards and 23 passing touchdowns while completing 64.9% of his passes.

New York started three QBs in 2025: Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor and Brady Cook. The three QBs combined for 2,777 passing yards and 14 touchdown passes.

The Jets' offense was a walking disaster in 2025. They were 29th in the NFL in points per game and 32nd in passing yards.

Reich replaces Tanner Engstrand, who was fired after one season. Jets head coach Aaron Glenn, who went 3-14 in his first season in New York, needs Reich to do better than Engstrand.

After all, if Glenn doesn't do well in Year 2, he could be fired next offseason.

"Frank has a rare combination of experience, creativity, and calm under pressure," Glenn said. "He's lived this game from every angle — as a quarterback in this league and as a coach who's led offenses at the highest level. He is unique in his ability to see the game for what it is right now and adapt when appropriate. Frank understands offense and how to utilize the strengths of players. I am looking forward to how he will help this team have success."
