The New York Jets definitely need to get Garrett Wilson some help in their receiving corps this offseason, as the position is very bare outside of him.
Fortunately, the Jets are armed with nearly $90 million in cap space plus four picks in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft, so they will certainly find a way to address the need somehow this offseason.
More than likely, New York's most prominent acquisition at wide receiver will come via the draft, because it will be very hard to convince any of the top free-agent pass-catchers to join the team in its current state.
The good news is that this draft class is loaded with talent at wide out, and the Jets own two first-round selections at No. 2 and No. 16.
With the latter pick, Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski is predicting New York to land Arizona State star Jordyn Tyson.
Here's the problem, though: Tyson has a very checkered injury history.
Jordyn Tyson. Credit: Jacob Musselman-Imagn Images. He tore his ACL, MCL and PCL back when he was at Colorado in 2022, suffered a broken collarbone late in 2024 and then dealt with hamstring issues in 2025, the latter of which limited him to nine games games during his final collegiate campaign.
There is no question that Tyson is talented, as evidenced by the fact that he hauled in 75 receptions for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2024. But his medical record is a major red flag that will surely give teams some pause when drafting him.
Given how rife this draft class is with wide receiver talent, the Jets would be taking quite the risk in selecting Tyson at No. 16. Can New York really afford that gamble?
The Jets might be better off selecting someone like Washington's Denzel Boston in the second round or nabbing one of the many other talented receivers with one of their two second-round selections.
Most recently, Tyson caught 61 passes for 711 yards and eight scores this past season, averaging an uninspiring 11.7 yards per catch.
There are some who actually feel that Tyson — when healthy — may be the most complete wide receiver in this draft, but while I think his floor is high, I have questions about his ceiling. And again, you can't just ignore his lack of durability.
