The New York Jets are adding to their defense with a pass rusher from the NFC.

The New York Jets are signing edge rusher Kinglsey Enagbare from the Green Bay Packers on a one-year, $10 million deal.

The Jets have been aggressive on the first day of free agency, retooling their defense under head coach Aaron Glenn.

Glenn came over to the Jets last offseason after having a ton of success as the defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions. However, New York struggled in 2025 and traded away their two best defensive players at the deadline, sending Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts and Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys.

They are now bringing in players like Enagbare, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Joseph Ossai, and Demario Davis to drastically improve the defense.

Enagbare spent the first four seasons of his career with the Packers as a rotational pass rusher. He has 146 total tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, and 31 quarterback hits in his career.

He could have a bigger role with the Jets, as he won't be behind a player like he was with Micah Parsons and other pass rushers in Rashan Gary and Lukas Van Ness.

Enagbare has shown flashes and will look to be a part of a New York defense that needs to turn things around in 2026.

General manager Darren Mougey has been extremely aggressive in his short time in New York. With the defense improving immensely through free agency and trades thus far, plus holding the 2nd, 16th, 33rd, and 44th overall picks in the draft, they could get even better by the end of the offseason.

The biggest question remaining for the Jets is who will be the starting quarterback in 2026? There is no clear-cut option in the draft after Fernando Mendoza, who is expected to go with the first overall pick to the Las Vegas Raiders.

That leaves New York with the options of trading for a quarterback, signing a bridge option, or drafting a quarterback in the middle to late rounds.

Regardless of how they address the quarterback position, it's clear the Jets are being aggressive in upgrading the defense for Glenn with additions like Enagbare.
