The Jets have been in QB purgatory for the longest time, and while many believe their next quarterback will come via the draft, this NFL insider thinks a trade could be brewing.

The New York Jets are certainly not considered among the NFL's elite teams, and this has been the case for some time now. They haven't made the playoffs in over 15 seasons, and this largely seems to be due to the constant carousel at the quarterback position.

The organization has not been able to find a stopgap behind center to even stop the bleeding. Aaron Rodgers was supposed to be that guy, but unfortunately, we all know how that ended.

If the Jets are going to build their way back to being a playoff team, it starts with the coach and the quarterback. The jury is still out on HC Aaron Glenn, but their quarterback issues may be getting solved at least for now this offseason.

Many people believe that they'll find their solution to the revolving door at the position via the draft, but NFL Insider Matthew Berry has been hearing noise at the NFL Combine that the Jets may be acquiring their next guy through a trade or buyout.

Matthew Berry is Hearing a Lot of Kyler Murray to the Jets Noise

With so many mock drafts lately having the Jets taking Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson, Matthew Berry revealed that what he's hearing deviates from that plan.

Berry states that, based on what he's hearing, the next Arizona Cardinals quarterback will be Malik Willis, noting that it would make sense to go from one Lafleur brother to another. This would obviously signal that current Cardinals QB Kyler Murray would be on the move.

Berry goes on to state that Murray's move sounds like it could be to the Big Apple to suit up for the Jets.

It makes all the sense in the world if you think about it. The Jets can either keep throwing rookie quarterbacks into the fire with little to no help around them, or they can find more of a bridge quarterback and use the time he provides them to fill out the rest of the team.

They have far too many holes to presently fix, and while you won't fix them all in one season, at least they can use the wealth of draft picks they acquired from the Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams trade to build out the rest of the team first.

We just witnessed a team win the Super Bowl with an unreal defense and weapons around a slightly above-average quarterback in Sam Darnold. I'm not saying Murray is capable of having a Darnold-like resurgence, but the formula is there.

Whether it takes a trade or a buyout on Arizona's side, Kyler Murray may just be the right fit for what the Jets need right now.
