NFL Report Reveals if Jets Are Going to Fire Aaron Glenn cover image

Are the New York Jets going to fire Aaron Glenn after just one season?

Aaron Glenn's first season as head coach of the New York Jets has been a disaster.

The Jets have started three quarterbacks and they enter the final week of the regular season with zero interceptions on defense.

Many Jets fans believe owner Woody Johnson should fire Glenn after one season, but according to NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Glenn will be back next season.

"The Jets are bringing back Aaron Glenn for a second season as head coach. The question is, how significant will changes be to his staff? Glenn already has fired his defensive coordinator Steve Wilks. Homework on replacements has already begun, with a search to follow as soon as the season ends.

"Changes to the rest of the staff are certainly possible. Glenn has said on multiple occasions the past two weeks that he was going to evaluate his staff. Finding an answer at QB -- again -- will be a top offseason priority for the Jets, who have five first-round picks over the next two drafts."

The Jets signed Glenn to a five-year contract. He recently said that he feels support from ownership and the front office.

"I do know there's a belief in me," Glenn said. "I do know I believe in him and that's why I'm glad I took this job is because of ownership and what he's about, what [general manager Darren Mougey] is about and what this organization is about."

The Jets are expected to draft a QB in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor and Brady Cook struggled this season under OC Tanner Engstrand.

It will be fascinating to see who New York selects in the 2026 draft. The franchise hasn't had a franchise QB since Hall of Famer Joe Namath.

Most people around the NFL believe the Jets, who have five first-round picks over the next two drafts, should trade up to select Fernando Mendoza.
