This is a big loss for the New York Jets.

The New York Jets are placing RB Braelon Allen in IR, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.

Allen suffered a left knee injury in Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football.

Allen has carried the ball 18 times this season. He has 76 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.

The Jets selected Allen with the 134th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin. Allen has 410 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns with New York.

"We're still going through exactly how we're going to designate that, so give me a little bit of time with that so we can try to figure it out," Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said Wednesday. "We'll see exactly where he's going to be when it comes to designate whether he will be on the IR or not."

The Jets are 0-4. They lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1, the Buffalo Bills in Week 2, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3 and the Dolphins in Week 4.

If New York loses to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5, Glenn will become the first coach in franchise history to start his career 0-5.

"These things take time, but I believe in everything that we are doing," Glenn said. "I believe in our coaching staff, and I believe in our players."
