Here are three players that have been pleasant surprises for the New York Jets through two weeks of the 2025 NFL season.

The New York Jets' 2025 season is in full-swing, and despite the franchise losing the first two games of the year, there are a few key players that have made their presence felt to kick off the season.

Newly-hired head coach Aaron Glenn was unable to secure his first win as the team's head coach in week one after a hard-fought battle against the Pittsburgh Steelers, 34-32. And in the following week, the Jets felt the wrath of quarterback Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, resulting in an 0-2 start for the new regime.

Luckily for Glenn and company, there are three players that have begun the 2025 season on a surprisingly hot start.

    1. Armand Membou, RT

I was extremely high on Membou during the 2025 NFL Draft cycle, but even I did not expect for the former Missouri standout to be this impressive as a rookie.

Through his first two games in the NFL, Membou currently ranks fourth amongst all qualifying tackles, according to PFF. The franchise's first-round pick has been excellent as a run blocker, as he currently holds a PFF run-blocking grade of 86.8. In addition to his terrific play in the run game, Membou allowed just three quarterback pressures and zero sacks in 57 pass plays this season.

With former right tackle Morgan Moses signing with the New England Patriots this offseason, Membou has been the perfect shoo-in tackle for the Jets so far in 2025. And at the young age of 21, the rising star is already showing signs of becoming a cornerstone at the position for years to come.

    2. Andre Cisco, FS

One of the underrated moves that general manager Darren Mougey made on the defensive side of the ball in the offseason was signing former Jacksonville Jaguars safety Andre Cisco to a one year, $8.5 million deal this offseason.

This signing has already paid dividends for the Jets' defensive efforts this season, as Cisco provides stability to the secondary unit. After his first two games with New York, the 25-year-old free safety is currently the 14th-best safety across the league, according to PFF. Cisco has managed to record eight tackles and one pass breakup so far in 2025, while also being a huge factor against the run and in pass coverage.

Outside of former 2022 first-round pick Sauce Gardner, the Jets' secondary lacks the proper playmakers to truly elevate this defense. But the offseason signing of Cisco at least gives New York's defense some additional help while the cornerback room is sorted out.

    3. Jowon Briggs, DL

While the signing of Cisco may have caught the attention of the league in the offseason, former Cleveland Browns' 2024 seven-round pick Jowon Briggs may truly be one of the best addition to the defense line for the Jets.

The 24-year-old defensive tackle from Cincinnati came their way via trade with the Browns this offseason and has already become a day-one impact player within the trenches. Briggs only played 12 snaps in week one, but Glenn would up his playing time in week two against the Bills. This proved to be a smart choice for New York, as Briggs recorded three tackles and one sack in week two.

Similar to the secondary unit, the Jets' defensive line includes one of the best playmakers in the league with Quinnen Williams. But with Briggs now entering the mix, New York's defensive line gained another talented player inside to assist against opposing run and pass games.
