With how poorly Justin Fields has looked throughout the 2025 season for the New York Jets, it seems very safe to say that his future could very well be up in the air, even in the NFL.
Fields threw for just 116 yards in the Jets' loss against the New England Patriots on Thursday night in Week 11, now posting 1,259 yards and just seven touchdowns on the season.
As the Jets look to move forward to find an ideal situation for all involved, that’s coming with a change this week. According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, the Jets were already considering changing things at the quarterback position, as well as figuring things out for any quarterback who plays.
"I'm evaluating everything, to be honest with you," Glenn said.
"Obviously, we have to do a better job in the passing game and that has a lot to do with Justin getting the ball to the right guys," Glenn said.
Losing is frustrating for the Jets, and while some of that falls on Fields, it's important that Glenn also recognizes that others in the locker room haven’t exactly done a great job, either. Not all of this falls on the former Ohio State star.
"I'm frustrated by every loss," Glenn said, "but this one was really frustrating, the fact that we had an opportunity to show the world exactly how we've grown as a team in all three phases."
While Fields hasn't looked great at times, he also hasn't had the best opportunity to go out there and succeed.
He also has to deal with a tough wide receiver core, especially with Garrett Wilson out. He acknowledged that, but said that he didn't want to make any excuses about some of his play and that he needs to do what he can.
"I mean, yeah, it's tough, but at the end of the day you can't complain about it," Fields said of the revolving door at receiver. "It's the circumstances we're in right now."
With only a few games remaining for the Jets, especially some winnable games at the end, it'll be interesting to see what direction Glenn and the front office want to go in. Fields clearly isn’t part of that plan any longer.
