The New York Jets came away with an impressive 27-20 win against a Cleveland Browns squad that might be better than their 2-7 record.

While the Browns have struggled for much of the past few decades, similarly to the Jets, they're a bit better than their record might indicate.

However, while this wasn't a great win for the Jets by any means, it was a promising sign, especially after moving on from some of their top players at the trade deadline earlier in the week.

It was a true team effort on Sunday for the Jets, as the offense even got some things going.

That wasn't many thanks to Justin Fields, who completed just 6-11 passes. Fields hasn't been given the opportunity to throw the football much during his short time with the organization, and it doesn't look like that's going to change anytime in the near future.

When speaking to reporters about what Fields has done, however, I think Aaron Glenn recognized pretty well that the lack of Fields' stats early on might be due to him not allowing him to throw the football as much as most quarterbacks in the NFL do.

"You know what, collectively, as an offense, I think we did some good things," Glenn said, per SNY. "The thing is, when you get two returns like that on the special teams, the offense doesn't have a good amount of plays.

"Especially in the passing game. We threw 11 passes. I think he was 6-for-11. Obviously, we have some things we need to clean up, but, also there are some good things he did there. I know he threw one pick. I will tell you this. I was happy that he tried to force the ball and get the ball downfield in that situation. I thought Cleveland did a Hell of a job in coverage."

I'm in a somewhat conflicting spot when it comes to Fields.

He obviously isn't the answer in terms of a long-term quarterback for the Jets, but I also question whether some of the struggles he's dealt with throughout the year are really his fault.

It's obvious that Glenn and the rest of the coaching staff don't trust him enough to throw the football, and while he might not be earning the opportunity to do so, we also don't really know what he has because of his limited chances.
