With a win on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, it's only fair to wonder what the New York Jets are going to do with the quarterback position long term.

Now with three wins, as we look around the NFL, the Jets aren't exactly in the best spot to get a quarterback within the first few picks anymore. It remains uncertain what the Jets are willing to do in terms of trading assets to get picks, but nothing can be counted out just yet.

I'm of the belief that if the Jets have an opportunity to draft either Ty Simpson, Fernando Mendoza, or Dante Moore, that's what needs to happen. In my opinion, Simpson is the best player available, just because I love his arm strength and the way he's shown he can throw the football during his time in Alabama.

To me, the Jets need a pure passer, as we typically see a lot of those transition well from the college ranks to the NFL.

CBS Sports' Ryan Wilson had them doing that with the No. 7 pick in his latest mock draft. He noted that Simpson has a big arm, good pocket presence, and more.

“Simpson is a big-armed pocket passer who plays with composure and outstanding mental processing both before and after the snap.

“He plays with an aggressive confidence and excels at navigating muddy pockets, throwing accurately on short and intermediate routes, and ripping tight-window throws with anticipation -- though he has been historically inconsistent on deep balls. Simpson is athletic enough to buy time with his legs to extend plays and move the sticks,” he wrote.

While I'd love Simpson, especially if he were to fall to No. 7, I don't know how realistic it is to suggest that he's going to fall to that pick.

The Jets have to ensure they get at least one of those quarterbacks, so there's a very good chance they'll have to trade up for a top-five pick in order to land one.

Simpson certainly isn't a perfect player, but not many players coming out of college are. Even the quarterbacks who were viewed as generational come in and struggle in the NFL at some points.

He's thrown for 3,056 yards and 25 touchdowns on the year.
