Merry Christmas and happy holidays, Jets fans!
While the New York Jets’ 2025 season may feel like the equivalent of receiving coal, there is one present that this fanbase will be excited to unwrap at a later time: the 2026 NFL Draft.
Unfortunately, this gift will not be opened until April, but in the meantime, here’s a full seven-round mock draft that should check off every box on your Jets’ wishlist.
*Trade with New York Giants. Jets receive pick No. 1 and a 2027 sixth-round pick in exchange for pick No. 4, No. 18, and a 2027 third-round pick.
What better Christmas gift for Jets fans than a franchise-altering quarterback?
In this situation, New York would forfeit their second first-round pick for Oregon quarterback Dante Moore, who is coming off an impressive first-round showing in the 2025 College Football Playoffs. The junior playmaker continues to boost his draft stock throughout this season, throwing for 3,045 yards and 28 touchdowns while completing 72.4 percent of his attempts.
While Indiana quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza is the consensus No. 1 quarterback in this year’s draft class, Moore’s combination of accuracy and athletic ability outside of the pocket gives him a higher ceiling than Mendoza.
We are going back-to-back with Oregon players for New York, as defensive tackle A’Mauri Washington could fill the void left by former star defender Quinnen Williams in the trenches.
This season, Washington has proven to be a lethal interior threat on the defensive line, recording 18 quarterback hurries and a run defense grade of 81.5, according to PFF. Adding a versatile tackle to the Jets’ current rotation would be a huge improvement, as pairing Washington with Jowon Briggs could be exactly what the Jets need to address the front four on defense.
Outside of the quarterback position on offense, it’s clear that New York needs an additional wide receiver to complement Garrett Wilson.
Tennessee’s Chris Brazzell II will be viewed as a developmental player, considering that his route tree has been limited throughout his time with the Volunteers. However, his rare blend of size (6-foot-5, 200 lbs.) and speed makes him an intriguing option to help stretch the field.Brazzell finished the 2025 season with 1,017 yards and nine touchdowns, which could ultimately help his case heading into April.
Despite losing star cornerback Sauce Gardner at the trade deadline, the Jets’ secondary unit features multiple young, promising cornerbacks. But, in order to round out the rest of the room, Texas A&M’s Will Lee III could be exactly what head coach Aaron Glenn needs heading into 2026.
At 6-foot-1, 189 lbs., Lee was a dominant man-to-man cornerback for the Aggies this season, finishing with 50 tackles and eight pass deflections. The senior defensive back must improve his zone coverage skills, but his aggressive style of play makes him a perfect match for Glenn’s defense.
Mougey and the Jets’ front office must make an important decision this offseason regarding EDGE Will McDonald IV and his fifth-year option. While both McDonald and fellow pass rusher Jermaine Johnson have yet to break out, New York must begin to revamp the organization’s defensive end room for the future.
USC’s Anthony Lucas would be a terrific flyer in the fourth round to help build a foundation, as the senior EDGE rusher is coming off a strong 2025 season with the Trojans. Depending on how Mougey handles McDonald’s fifth-year option, selecting Lucas would be step one in reloading the defensive line.
