The NFC North is already heating up. With the Lions and Bears taking losses, Minnesota stands alone at 2–0. Here’s where every team stands heading into Week 3.
There is only one team left in the NFC North that remains undefeated, and that is the Minnesota Vikings. With both the Bears and Lions losing this weekend, let’s take a look at where each team stands and what their next matchup looks like.
Lions
Detroit is coming off a bad loss to the Buffalo Bills, where their secondary and offensive line slowed them down immensely. Detroit will now return home to Ford Field to take on former Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn and the New York Jets.
Detroit is currently a 6.5-point favorite over New York. Despite the loss, the Lions still have the best odds to win the division at +160.
Vikings
Minnesota is coming off an ugly 9–3 win over the Chicago Bears, improving to 2–0. Defensive coordinator Brian Flores has the Vikings looking like one of the best defenses in the NFL, as they’ve held opponents to just six points over the last six quarters.
Minnesota will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday after Tampa Bay just lost to the Cleveland Browns. If Kyler Murray can provide legitimate quarterback play, the Vikings could be a serious threat in the NFC North.
Currently, Minnesota has the second-best odds to win the division at +180.
Bears
Bears fans watched their loss to the Vikings go from bad to even worse as Caleb Williams went down with a hamstring injury. Initially, it appeared that Williams had suffered a serious Achilles injury, but he is expected to miss only a few games and has not been placed on injured reserve.
Unfortunately for Chicago, backup quarterback Tyson Bagent also suffered a concussion, leaving veteran Case Keenum in line to start this Sunday when the Bears take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.
Chicago currently has the third-best odds to win the division at +450.
Packers
Green Bay nearly escaped New York with a win last week, needing overtime to defeat the Jets. The Packers trailed 17–7 in the fourth quarter but managed to complete the comeback.
Green Bay’s offense has not looked particularly good, and the team just took another hit with the loss of starting wide receiver Jayden Reed and starting right tackle Zach Bakole-Badiale.
Green Bay now sits at 1–1 and is set to take on the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night. The Packers currently have the longest odds to win the division at +500.
