Pro Bowl debates are nothing new in Detroit, but this season feels different, as the Lions’ rise has been powered by stars who have clearly separated themselves from the rest of the league.

Every season, Detroit Lions fans would love to see the entire roster rewarded with Pro Bowl honors. The reality, however, is that only a select few players can earn those invitations. Through 14 weeks of the NFL season, the Lions have separated themselves as one of the league’s most complete teams, and several players have built résumés strong enough to merit serious Pro Bowl consideration.

While injuries have impacted Detroit’s depth and availability at key positions, the Lions are still poised to send a healthy group of players to Orlando. Based on production, consistency and league-wide standing, Detroit could reasonably expect seven Pro Bowl selections this season.

Offensive candidates

The Lions’ offense remains the foundation of their success, and it could produce as many as five Pro Bowlers.

Running back Jahmyr Gibbs headlines the list. In just his second NFL season, Gibbs has emerged as one of the most dynamic offensive players in the league. He ranks fifth in the NFL in rushing yards with1,062, sits second in runs of 20 yards or more, and is second in rushing touchdowns with 13. Among the top eight rushers in the league, Gibbs stands alone as the only player without a fumble. His impact extends beyond the ground game, as he also ranks second among all running backs in receiving yards. Gibbs’ versatility and efficiency make him a near lock for Pro Bowl honors and a strong candidate to dominate fan voting.

Up front, right tackle Penei Sewell continues to solidify his reputation as the best offensive lineman in football. Sewell is Pro Football Focus’ highest-graded player in the NFL with a remarkable 96.0 grade, and no other player in the league sits above 93.6. A Pro Bowler in each of the past three seasons, Sewell’s dominance in both pass protection and run blocking makes him an easy selection once again.

Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is quietly putting together another elite season. Through 14 weeks, St. Brown ranks sixth in total receptions with 81, fifth in receiving yards with 967, and is tied for second in touchdown receptions with nine. Like Sewell, St. Brown has earned Pro Bowl nods in each of the past three seasons and remains one of the most reliable and productive receivers in the NFC.

Quarterback Jared Goff also finds himself firmly in Pro Bowl contention. Goff ranks fifth in the NFL in passing yards with 3,334 and is tied for second in touchdown passes with 26. If selected, it would mark the fifth Pro Bowl appearance of his career and his second consecutive selection with Detroit.

The final offensive name to watch is wide receiver Jameson Williams. Williams is on pace for the most productive season of his career and has become a consistent downfield threat. While competition at wide receiver is fierce, Williams could squeeze into a final Pro Bowl spot based on his big-play ability and overall growth within the offense.

Tight end Sam LaPorta also had a legitimate case before suffering a back injury that likely ended his season.

Defensive candidates

Injuries have limited Detroit’s defensive Pro Bowl ceiling, with Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph both missing significant time. Still, three defenders stand out as deserving candidates.

Linebacker Jack Campbell has been the Lions’ most impactful defender this season. Campbell ranks fourth in the NFL in solo tackles, has forced three fumbles and leads all middle linebackers with five sacks. He also ranks 10th among all linebackers in Pro Football Focus grades. Campbell is seeking his first Pro Bowl appearance and has built a strong case not only for selection, but for All-Pro consideration.

Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson remains a staple on the Pro Bowl ballot. Hutchinson owns the fourth-highest PFF grade among all defensive ends at 91.4. He ranks fifth in the NFC and 12th in the NFL with 8.5 sacks, while his four forced fumbles rank second league-wide. Hutchinson is on track for his second Pro Bowl selection.

The final defensive candidate is Al-Quadin Muhammad, who has quietly led the Lions in sacks (9) and ranks among the top 10 in the NFL. His consistent pressure and production give him a legitimate shot to earn his first Pro Bowl nod.

Potential alternates

As is often the case, Pro Bowl alternates will likely come into play due to injuries and opt-outs. Offensive tackle Taylor Decker, a fan favorite and last year’s Pro Bowl selection, could be next in line. Linebackers Alex Anzalone and Derrick Barnes also remain strong alternate candidates, providing steady production despite lacking headline statistics. Return specialist Tom Kennedy could receive late consideration, though his chances remain slim.

Overall, the Lions appear poised to send approximately seven players to the Pro Bowl, a reflection of their rise as one of the NFL’s most complete and respected teams.
