Which teams will buy, and who will sell at the NFL Trade deadline? Our NFL Roundtable experts discuss the state of their teams ahead of Tuesday.
The NFL trade deadline is approaching on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 4 pm ET, with a lot of teams firmly entering the “buyer” and “seller” categories.
Which teams will go all-in at the deadline, and which will be a bit more reasonable about where they’re at in the season? Some teams might push themselves into buyers territory thinking they’re a player or two away when they’re really not that close.
The number of quarterback injuries across the league has definitely changed a lot of team’s outlook on this season.
What do our experts here at Roundtable think about the status of their NFL teams? We surveyed our publishers here that cover each NFL site on what direction they think their team might take, what their biggest needs are, and who they might target or look to offload depending on their situation.
Targets: WR: Jauan Jennings (Vikings), Josh Downs (Colts), Jerry Jeudy (Browns). EDGE: Will McDonald (Jets), Khalil Mack (Chargers)
Top positions to add: WR, EDGE
Buyers or sellers: If the Falcons win this week in Spain, they will potentially be the team to beat in the NFC South. A loss would make it tough to justify a big move, so it really could be determined by results this week. With that being said, there are improvements to be made and guys out there who would fit well and are affordable, so I would love to see Atlanta swing at least one move.
Targets: Get guard help: Landon Dickerson (Eagles)
Top positions to add: OL, WR
Buyers or sellers: It is hard to imagine the Ravens believing that their season is over with. Jacoby Brissett offers the team some big stability and a veteran leader at quarterback, but the offense could still use a boost in the form of some wide receiver and offensive line help. The injury to Vega Ioane watered down the line too much, so the need to get some more guard help could help rebound the season.
Targets: Khalil Mack (Chargers), Elijah Molden (Chargers), Camryn Bynum (Colts)
Top positions to add: S, EDGE
Buyers or sellers: The Bills are going to be buyers if they choose to make any movement at the deadline. Adding to the pass rush would be ideal and safety help is needed.
Targets: Riq Woolen (Eagles), Josh Sweat (Eagles), Donte Jackson (Chargers)
Top positions to add: CB, DL
Buyers or sellers: They are in a window that the NFC South is winnable now and will be for the next several years. They should be buyers at the deadline looking to beef up the defensive backfield.
Targets: Draft picks (2nd to 4th round)
Top positions to add: CB, LB, S
Buyers or sellers: The Bengals bolstered their 30th-ranked defense this offseason and have brought it to the middle of the pack. That said, it's still not at the level of other Super Bowl contenders, particularly in the secondary, which is where Cincinnati should direct its resources at the trade deadline. Most of the available trade candidates should be gettable for picks in Rounds 2-4, which the Bengals should be willing to part with to give this group a real shot.
Targets: Charlie Kolar (LA Chargers). If they sell, they should shop Jerry Jeudy, Shedeur Sanders
Top positions to add: TE, LB
Buyers or sellers: Browns will either be neutral or a mid-market buyer at the deadline. The Browns are not in their Super Bowl window so they will not make a splash move. If they were to add anything at the deadline it would be a move at tight end or linebacker for a player that they have for a couple of years that doesn’t cost them a lot of capital.
Targets: If they buy, Josh Sweat (Cardinals), Alex Highsmith (Steelers), K’Lavon Chaisson (Commanders), YaYa Diaby (Bucs), Maxx Crosby (Raiders), Kingsley Enagbare (Jets), Cam Jordan and Chase Young (Saints). If they sell, George Pickens, Luke Schoonmaker
Top positions to add: OLB, EDGE
Buyers or sellers: Buyer? Seller? Dallas is 3-5 and in trade deadline limbo. If the Cowboys opt to sell - something owner Jerry Jones swears he’s leaning against - ideas range from the very top (Pickens) to the dregs (third-string bust tight end Schoonmaker.)
If they buy? Let’s include all those names above. And on and on we can go …
Targets: Jonathan Taylor (Colts)
Top positions to add: RB, TE
Buyers or sellers: Rookie RB Jonah Coleman is emerging as a serviceable RB, but with Taylor available Denver should do everything they can to get him. The Broncos will need top talent in the backfield if they wish to make a deep run in the playoffs.
Targets: Amani Hooker (Titans), Mike Sainristil (Commanders), Tariq Woolen (Eagles), Jordyn Brooks (Dolphins)
Top positions to add: CB, LB
Buyers or sellers: With Jack Campbell likely out for an extended period, Jimmy Rolder done for the season and Devin White out until December, Detroit has emerged as a team looking for LB help. The secondary has gotten better, but Detroit knows they won't get weak offenses in the playoffs and adding a CB could be beneficial Be buying at the deadline and a RB is all they need to go deep in the playoffs.
Targets: Jonathan Taylor (Colts), Tony Pollard (Titans), Landon Dickerson (Eagles)
Top positions to add: RB, OL
Buyers or sellers: There are only two main areas the Packers need help. With their running game being abysmal, running back and the offensive line stand out. Jonathan Taylor would be a dream, albeit it an unlikely one, but something needs to be done.
Targets: More RB Depth incase Monty doesn't work out
Top positions to add: RB
Buyers or sellers: It's all about bolstering the roster incase the playoffs work out, without selling the farm and killing the future plans.
Targets: RB Jonathan Taylor, WR Josh Downs, DT Grover Stewart
Top positions to add: Draft picks
Buyers or sellers: The Colts have come to terms with the fact they're beginning a rebuild, and therefore everyone is available at the right price. They've already sent out Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner, and are almost certainly not done.
Targets: S Budda Baker (Cardinals), DT Roy Lopez (Cardinals), S Amani Hooker (Titans), CB Riq Woolen (Eagles)
Top positions to add: S, DT, CB
Buyers or sellers: The Jaguars have proven to be one of the AFC's top teams and should be active and significant buyers at the deadline.
Targets: Josh Downs (Colts), Brian Thomas Jr. (Jaguars)
Top positions to add: WR
Buyers or sellers: The Chiefs need to buy at the deadline, and they only need to target a WR. When Tyquan Thornton went down, it was blatantly obvious this team needed a better receiving corps.
Targets: Trade away Maxx Crosby?
Top positions to add: Draft picks
Buyers or sellers: The Raiders are walking a fine line of selling, buying, or doing nothing. Sundays game against SF could dictate what they do (losing = selling) and Crosby is their best trade chip. If they want to rebuild for Mendoza, they could get some great draft capital for Crosby.
Targets: Sell to Secure #1 Pick
Top positions to add: #1 Pick
Buyers or sellers: The only thing that matters at this point is getting the top pick so this awful season feels worth it. Whether that's selling or standing, just don't buy.
Targets: Riq Woolen (Eagles), Brian Thomas Jr. (Jaguars)
Top positions to add: WR, CB
Buyers or sellers: Los Angeles is never a team that sells, but a team that buys. With a two-game win streak and the loss of Jaylen Watson, it would be very Les Snead to go after some big names on the market. Philadelphia Eagles’ Riq Woolen and Jacksonville Jaguars’ Brian Thomas Jr. would be two names to watch, and would be the kind of big swings that would prove the Rams remain all-in on their injury-filled season.
Targets: Austin Jackson, Zach Sieler
Top positions to add: Everything
Buyers or sellers: The Dolphins 2026 season is not about bringing in high-level talent. It is about judging the current roster and what it can produce moving forward. Offensive lineman Austin Jackson is the only likely trade chip as he is on an expiring contract. While rumors have swirled about defensive lineman Zach Sieler, he is a veteran presence the team should keep. Miami will not be sellers nor will they be buyers.
Targets: QB of the Future? (regret JJ yet?)
Top positions to add: QB, RB
Buyers or sellers: Vikings are buyers. Although their record is probably better than the team actually is, there’s a real case to be made that Minnesota being a smart buyer could make them a true contender. Especially if it’s an offensive buy.
Targets: Josh Downs (Colts), Derrick Henry (Ravens), Landon Dickerson (Eagles)
Top positions to add: RB, WR, OL
Buyers or sellers: The Patriots don't "have" to make a trade. But, if they do, expect them to target wide receiver, running back, or offensive line help. New England has had its fair share of struggles, but adding either of these three players would be a big boost.
Targets: Sell vets
Top positions to add: Anyone young
Buyers or sellers: This team has shown flashes of life, but needs another year of development. Pivot strategy to beyond this season.
Targets: Jonathan Taylor (Colts), Vita Vea (Bucs), Breece Hall (Jets)
Top positions to add: RB, DL
Buyers or sellers: The Giants have been among the most commonly talked about teams in trade rumors. A running back has been a clear target, while defensive line help is also needed. Expect to see New York remain active.
Targets: Seller: Breece Hall, Kingsley Enagbare, Will McDonald
Top positions to add: N/A
Buyers or sellers: Aaron Glenn and the Jets could be a seller, although Garrett Wilson isn't going to get moved barring a shocking change of direction. Players like Breece Hall, Kingsley Enagbare, and Will McDonald could be available at the right price.
Targets: Seller: Zack Baun, Saquon Barkley, Landon Dickerson
Top positions to add: N/A
Buyers or sellers: More than likely, the Eagles will explore the option of trading away some talent. Out of the three names mentioned, Dickerson is the most likely to be moved. Barkley has reportedly not been included in trade discussions, but a massive offer could force Howie Roseman to consider the idea.
Targets: Josh Downs (Colts), Garrett Wilson (Jets)
Top positions to add: WR, DB
Buyers or sellers: The Steelers are going to be big time buyers at the deadline. They firmly believe that they are a contender and with the way that Aaron Rodgers is playing they need to go all in now. They will be active in the wide receiver trade market to add another explosive piece to round out their offense.
Targets: WR Help (someone who can stay healthy)
Top positions to add: WR
Buyers or sellers: If this team can get healthy and add more depth, it can win a SB. So marginal moves could be the difference.
Targets: The Bucs' roller-coaster season has them in position to be either buyers or sellers at the deadline, leaning toward buyers. If so, they should target TE Trey McBride (Cardinals), who is a game-changer. TE Dallas Goedert (Eagles), EDGE Khalil Mack (Chargers), and Cardinals DT are also top targets.
Top positions to add: TE, EDGE, DT
Buyers or sellers: As of right now, the Bucs are likely buyers. However, a tough Sunday Night Football road matchup awaits them against the Chicago Bears. A win solidifies TB as buyers. A bad loss could convince the organization to sell.
Targets: CB Mike Sainristil
Top positions to add: CB, IOL, DL
Buyers or sellers: Likely trending as a seller, but injuries have complicated their status. DT Daron Payne was arguably the top trade asset for Washington — until his season ending injury. Javon Kinlaw drew reported interest, but he will also be sidelined for now the rest of '26. Sainristil's future has become increasingly complex given he's comfortably on the outside-looking-in in the rotation, making him a young CB who could draw interest for a fresh start at a cheap price.
